The Annual Congregational meeting for Salem Lutheran Church will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at the Pass Lake Community Hall following the Sunday Morning Worship Service which starts at 10:00 am. All are welcome to attend!

Please join us for Salem's In-Person Worship Service this Sunday, February 27th at 10:00 am at the Pass Lake Community Hall lead by Bill Wiltshire.... Masks and hand sanitization will still be mandatory. We will continue to keep the seating physically distanced.

As you have seen and heard that the Omicron virus is spreading like wildfire. The Ontario government has closed many places and reduced capacity in others, and so Salem Lutheran church council decided that suspending in-person Sunday services for the remainder of January would be the best way to secure the safety of our church attendees. We will look at the situation at the end of January to see how we will proceed. Fundraiser for the Church Building Fund! The art is by my husband Roger Means so much to me as my grandparents were homesteaders and my mother born, raised, married there and her and my Dad raised all 6 of us there. Some may know my Mom, she was a successful businesswoman, owner of Watson Bus Lines. I have Prints $10 each Magnets $5 each Card with envelope $5 each and Postcards are $2 each or 3 for $5. I can mail out the items at an additional cost and etransfer directly to the church is available! PM me for details! Limited quantities All funds go to the church building fund .....we had a very generous soul donate the cost of printing etc. and once again thank you to my hubby for the artwork!

Salem’s congregation has voted to rebuild! At a meeting of the congregation held today a vote was held as to whether or not they would like Council to proceed with plans to rebuild our church and the response was a unanimous yes! The recorded vote was 60 for and 0 against. We have a lot of decisions to make and council will be seeking input from the congregation and the community as we go along. Salem Church Council is inviting all members of our congregation to a meeting to be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Pass Lake Community Hall. There will be a discussion followed by a yes or no vote to be held by ballot as to whether you would like to see our church building rebuilt. Council is in favour of moving ahead with the new build. All active members of the congregation who have obtained voting age (18) are entitled to a vote. If you w...ish to vote, and are unable to attend in person, please contact a member of council and we will make arrangements to get a ballot to you. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed. Masks are mandatory while indoors and social distancing safety measures will be observed, so we need to know how many people will be in attendance. Salem Church Sunday Worship Services are cancelled indefinitely. We deeply regret having to make this decision, but we are taking these steps out of an abundance of caution. If social distancing works the way our health officials believe it will work, this will drastically decrease the spread of COVID-19 (the coronavirus). We all have to do our part. We pray for those who are ill with this virus and for those who care for them. We also pray for health and frontline workers a...s they face their daily tasks. We remember our seniors who are in long term care and those who are hospitalized, who no longer can enjoy a friendly visit from their families and loved ones due to the current visitor restrictions. Public Health officials tell us that the best way to prevent infection is to avoid being exposed to any virus. General prevention measures include: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Avoid close contact with people who are ill. Stay home if you have influenza/respiratory virus symptoms (e.g., fever, cough, trouble breathing). Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands. If you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Salem has an important role to play during this time to support the people in our community.
