6 weeks since we reopened and things are finally back to normal at the salon,... well, covid-19 normal not sure how many people we served since June 8th,.. but I hope most people are back to their regular selves and the headbands, clips and bobby pins are gone feels good to back to the regular routine

Please share: So far, we as a province are on schedule for Level 3 starting June 8th. This means that the Salon’s opening date would be on Monday June the 8th. Shelley and myself are contacting clients and are starting to fill the appointment book so you should be hearing from us soon. Please note,... that I’m waiting on government rules for our opening. As of now,... I have put up a clear plastic curtain separating me and my clients from Shelley and her clients. Clients will... be required to wear a face mask (disposable ones will be available if you don’t own one) and we’ll be wearing masks also. As soon as a client enters the salon, they will either use hand sanitizer immediately at the front desk or will go directly to the washroom to wash their hands. Our appointment times will be booked longer so clients are not overlapping each other and that we have enough time to properly clean our stations before the next client. The salon will not be available for walk in services,.. everything needs to be booked including brow waxing. I’m not sure yet,.. but coffee and cookies may not be available either, and the waiting area won’t be available, clients will be asked to stay in their vehicles till their appointment times. As of now,... I’m not sure if tanning services will be available,.. I should know more on that in the future. We will do our best to keep ourselves and the public safe. The environment will be different at the salon while we are at Level 3,... safety will be our number one concern above everything. In anticipation of opening up, I’ve completed a quick online disinfectant and safety course to make our opening as safe as possible for everyone. There will be some changes to the flow of our salon when NL goes to Level 3 but we will do our best to provide a safe environment for everyone. We miss you all and hopefully we’ll be seeing you next month

So if everything goes as planned,... we should be able to open in the middle June,... salons have been put in the level 3 criteria. Fingers-crossed that we don’t get another outbreak and plans don’t change. We are not taking appointments at this time, because we still don’t know the exact day we are able to open! We miss you all but we are trying to stay safe just as much as the person.

Last Saturday I went to the salon,... decided we’d colour Sandra’s hair and pick up some paperwork. The salon was lifeless. 8 years I’ve had the salon and it had become my second home,... a place I spent the most time in, a place where clients had become friends,.. my second family was at the salon. This is week 3 that we are closed,... and the salon has lost it’s life,... Bell Islanders were the heart of this salon, and Shelley and I were the blood that kept it going. I miss it,... I miss our normal life,... can’t wait for the world to become safe again. Can’t wait till we are able to open our doors again.

Due to the Covid-19 situation,... we sadly need to close our salon. At the salon we can follow all precautions necessary, except the most important one,... social distancing. It’s impossible for us to do our job without being close to clients. Am I personally afraid of this virus,.. no,.. am I afraid I could become a carrier and hurt the public,.. absolutely. So we apologize for the inconvenience and we’ll update if the situation becomes different.

The salon is currently open with regular hours but we are closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation. We are not accepting any clients that have any type of cold, cough, or flu related symptoms. Please if you do not feel 100% cancel your appointment. Also, if you have travelled outside of NL,... please do not book an appointment for 2-3 weeks. Thank you Paula

The salon will be closed tomorrow due to the Winter Storm that’s coming, sorry for the inconvenience but I’m pretty sure we’ll all be heavily snowed in. Be safe and warm everyone!

From all of us at the salon, we would like to wish you all a beautiful and special Christmas. As we get older, Christmas becomes a sad and hard time of year for many people. So, my thoughts and prayers are with those that are struggling,.... and may 2020 bring you nothing but joy and health. Thank you to everyone on Bell Island for your continued support, for the laughs, and for the love you share with us everytime you guys walk through our door. Appointments at the salon are pretty much booked up till Christmas now. We’ve started a cancellation list and will do our best to try and get you in. We have already extended our hours and are open on the 23rd,... but god only gave us two hands so there’s only so much we are able to do.
