Here are Laurie’s reflections of 2020 and hope for 2021... What was the best thing that happened to you in 2020? The opening of SalonatChurch. Also, being able to take time and research and plan the business during the March closure. What was the worst thing that happened in 2020? Being told, I can not do hair. I always said I would have employment because I can cut hair anywhere. But then being told I couldn’t took a toll on me. What are your plans professionally during this lockdown? To stay engaged with my loyal clients, who have been through A LOT this year, for which I am forever grateful!! As well as clean up paperwork and plan for the future! What are your personal plans during the lockdown? To find balance again. Health, personal and business. Hang out with James and the cats. Cook healthy meals. Paint the trim, LOL What do you wish most for 2021? Healthy and happy family and friends. Success for my team. New adventures. Being able to travel again. See more

Let us congratulate @michelleatchurch for being promoted to Level 3 Stylist! She has worked hard to complete the #mastersofbalayage online program for the last several months! We can truly call her the master of balayage! We love having our princess on our team! Here is what Michelle reflects on from 2020 and is looking forward to in 2021 ... 1. What was the best thing that happened to you in 2020? The best thing that happened to me in 2020 was self discovery, I was able to really discover who I was as an individual, what was most important to me in my world, including my family and career. 2020 has to be the biggest life changing year I have experienced and I hope it has prepped me enough for what's to come in the near future. 2. The worst thing? Covid-19, it has brought tears, stress and anxiety but I have built myself up to be able to conquer these weaknesses and build strength from it. 3. What are your plans professionally during the lockdown? My plans professionally during the lockdown will be to stay engaged as much as I can with my audience, posting what I'm doing, even if it's drinking coffee on a snowing Tuesday morning. And staying up to date on current trends, my mannequin will get some one on one time with me 4. Your personal plans during lockdown? I'm not sure how many of my guests know that I am expecting my first baby boy in may 2021, but I will be prepping for him! 5. What do you wish for the most for 2021? I wish for health and success in 2021! See more

We are so fortunate to add Mackenzie to the SalonatChurch team! She’s hilarious, she is selfless, a hard worker and a terrific mom! She makes every guest feel like they have known her for years! Here’s @macatchurch reflection of 2020 and plans for 2021 1. What was the best thing that happened to you in 2020? ... I graduated hair school and I was able to immediately start working at an amazing salon and continue my apprenticeship. 2. The worst thing? Like many other people, having to put my whole professional life on pause for so long, it was stressful and hard to try and complete hair school half online. 3. What are your plans professionally during the lockdown? My plans are to try and find some classes to take, keep up practicing with mannequins and my kids when they want to sit still! I want to take this time to work on the social media/marketing side of this business as well and find a way how to best advertise myself to build up my client base for when I start on the floor as a full time stylist in the coming months. 4. Your personal plans during lockdown? I’m planning to spend some time with my kids and unplug as much as possible. We really enjoy game/movie nights so just trying to find fun ways to stay home and stay safe and create some fun memories. 5. What do you wish for the most for 2021? My wish for 2021 is for my family and friends to remain safe and healthy. I want to work hard at my new career and meet lots of new people. Make some beautiful hair and really just try and focus on the important things in my life and not the negatives that we can sometimes get lost in especially with the past year. See more
