Salsaria's 11th Year Annual Gala is this coming Saturday January 11th. We will be teaching an Introduction to Salsa On2 @ 7pm to 8pm. If you have not had many practice dancing to the 2 beat, this is your chance :-) and to those that have a good knowledge of it, it's your chance to test it to the newbies and help them out!!! Hi all, We are a day away from Salsaria's 11th Year Anniversary. Andrea and I will be holding an Introduction to Salsa On2 :-) . This workshop are both for people who have never taken Salsa before or if you have taken Salsa On1, It's a good introduction on "what the heck is Salsa On2" ? And if you had taken it before, come on by and help out or brush up on your base, maybe if there's enough of you, we can add some simple footwork that we use On1 to On2 :) 7:00PM TO 8:00PM .... Hello all, Our Intermediate class will be starting next week Monday January 13 to February 10 from 6pm to 7:15pm $70. Introduction to Salsa - January 15 to February 12 - $60.... We are invited to teach an Introduction to Salsa On2 at Salsaria's 11th Year Gala event this Saturday January 11. Workshop is from 7pm to 8pm. Newbies welcome, seasoned dancers come and participate and help out the newbies :-) We will be teaching at Rahim's Salsa on March 13 from 8pm to 9pm - Introduction to Salsa!!

We lucked in, Salsa Jim was playing some oldies (wink) for us old fogies with bad knees :( Let's try again next block, depending when the block ends, it 'll either be at The Mill or Segreto!! On another Note: We've been asked to be the guest instructor to teach Salsa Basics for December 23rd at the Mill? Will some of you be there :) ?????????? 6pm to 7pm!!!

Salsa On2 (Special block) November 20 to December 18 7:00pm to 8:00pm $70 Please register to [email protected] Pre-requisite: Must have solid knowledge of dancing Salsa On1. This class will touch on the base of On2 and will convert a few intermediate moves, footwork, styling.

October 23 to November 20 (Wednesdays) Pre intermediate class (advance beginner) from 6pm to 7:15pm. $70

Salsa Jungle Fever OR How to Survive a Crowded Hot Summer Dance Floor... What is salsa jungle fever... well, in this case, it's nothing to do with the type of hunting that might normally go on in the clubs... but let me tell you what can happen in a hot, sweaty club..... A month ago, as I headed down to Babaluu's on a Tuesday, I'm in anticipation of another great night of dancing and some great non-stop salsa music... And as you walk in, the place is packed and you case the floor to see how many of your friends have shown up and to say "hi". As I walk to the back of the club, I brush past some dancers at the edge of the dance floor and unluckily get a long, large scrape of a sharp heel down the back of my calf almost to my ankle... And as always, they are not experienced or considerate dancers who usually would notice if they bumped or scratched someone, but obviously beginners, intermediate or selfish dancers who are so busy still concentrating on their steps that they don't even bat an eyelash or say sorry. Some of you may say, how can a dancer know the difference? Well, you take a crowded room full of experienced dancers and compare it to a room full of inexperienced dancers; and let me tell you how many times you were bumped into or stepped on. I can guarantee you it will be less than 10% or not at all because they usually are considerate about their floor space or stop their partner before they bump or step on another dancer. But that was not the end of a summer night's evening of dance... Imagine the inexplicable feeling of dancing with a partner who's clothes are soaked to their skin; and actually do moves that make your hands brush against their sweaty clothes! Or how about a sweaty two-kiss hello we all love to do but to have their sweaty cheeks bathe your own in sweat! Dancers, please remember some basic summer etiquette rules as alot of the salsa venues seem to lack proper air conditioning: 1. Bring a change of clothes if you know you regularly sweat on the dance floor. 2. Don't actually kiss when you're sweaty... and let the dancer know that's why you're not really giving the proper hello or goodbye. 3. If a dancer insists on dancing with you, you can warn them that your clothes are soaked right through; therefore they have the chance to refuse. And always, always watch out for your partner to ensure they don't bump or step on someone else on the dance floor. And if you do, please remember to apologize. If you didn't even notice, guaranteed, you need to pay more attention to your dance space and not just on your partner and your moves. PS Remember that scratch? Well, it lasted a week and turned into a long, sore black and blue bruise!

Our Fall 2019 Salsa classes (Mondays) - September 9 to October 7 High Intermediate (Salsa 3/4) 6:00pm to 7:00pm - $70 ....details to follow. Cool fun moves, make them into patterns, ladies footwork, ladies arm style, shines. As usual, we incorporate Salsa On2 and Cha cha in all of our classes except for the beginner's class. (Wednesdays) - September 11 to October 9 Pre Intermediate 6:00pm to 7:00pm - $70. To those that have taken the 'Introduction to Salsa Dancing'. This is the next 'level'. You will learn more intermediate like moves. Boomerang, Travelling turns, Hand tosses are some of the examples that will be taught in this level. A minimum of 6 people required to hold this class. Please register and/or etransfer at [email protected] . Unfortunately, no make up dates, discount or credits will be given for missed classes. (Wednesdays) - September 18 to October 16 InTroduction to Salsa Dancing 6:00pm to 7:00pm - $60. Learn the fundamentals of Salsa. NO dance experience required. We will go over the 4 fundamental steps. No partner required. Please note, we will be switching partners often to experience different leads and follows.! A minimum of 6 people required to hold this class.
