Salt Spring Metal Recycling will no longer be accepting materials after December the 5th. Our Islands Trust has given me the ultimatum of shut down or face $1000 a day fines. I recycle millions of pounds of material annually. The Trust is to "preserve and Protect" our island and I do more cleaning up this place than any other. Yet somehow I am the enemy. I guess we really aren't a green community. Seems we a now just a group of elites that dictate to others what we find acceptable and money always wins!

I was just contacted for a interview in the American Metal Markets magazine. This is making news in places other than just SSI. Sadly another report going out to the world that SSI is closed for business!

There are several other videos on Banana Joe's You Tube account showing this job. The move took 2 hours from start to finish. This was a fun way to end a very busy week!
