A glowing review from our Rate-a-Biz portal: Such a great experience I’m usually pretty nervous about having dental work done as my mouth is very sensitive. So I was even more nervous having a new dentist attending to my mouth. We’ll all I can say was that it was great! Dr Jake is gentle, gives a great needle and is very very attentive to detail in his work. I’d know, as I used to be a dental assistant years ago. His assistant is A one, professional, experienced and very at...tentive. The bonus was NO MORE RUBBER DAMS AND CLAMPS!! That did it for me. Now I can think of going to the dentist without any anxiety. All the staff is very friendly, professional and make it a nice experience. The Covid measures are excellent and well managed. Thank you. Hello dear patients! While the guidelines are ever changing regarding health and safety, we have been following our respective colleges’ regulations on keeping us all safe. As well as using the required PPE, we ask patients to help us observe the following protocols: Upon arrival at the office, we ask that you remain in your vehicle or on the bench outside of our door until we come to get you. You will be met downstairs, where your temperature will be taken with an infr...a-red (no-touch) thermometer. Upon entering the clinic through our 2201 stairwell entrance, you will use an oral peroxide rinse and wash your hands. After your appointment, you will pass through our reception area for further appointments, etc., and exit through our 2202 stairwell. We ask that you refrain from sitting and to touch as few surfaces as possible. We ask that you refrain from visiting our office if: You have any symptoms of COVID-19, including cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing, post-nasal drip, loss of smell with or without fever You have been in close contact or have been in isolation with a suspected case in the last 14 days You have traveled internationally in the last 14 days We are in the process of contacting everyone who has scheduled appointments since March and are booking both hygiene and treatment appointments. We will let our orthodontic patients know when we have scheduled days for Dr Keil. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. See more

Dear Patients of Salt Spring Dental, More than anything, we want to thank you for your patience over the last few months as we are navigating through these strange and uncertain times. Rest assured; we have missed you as much as you have missed us! We have been busy in the office the last few weeks ensuring that we are up to date regarding operating safety standards, covering both the provincial and dental college of British Columbia guidelines. As we ease into our new normal..., the following pre-screening protocols will be in place. We ask that you refrain from visiting our office if: You have any symptoms of COVID-19, including cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing, post-nasal drip, loss of smell with or without fever You have been in close contact or have been in isolation with a suspected case in the last 14 days You have traveled internationally in the last 14 days Upon arrival at the office, we ask that you remain in your vehicle or on the bench outside of our door until we come to get you. You will be met downstairs and triaged again, as well as having your temperature taken. This week we are seeing emergency patients only, and plan to resume hygiene and treatment on June 1st. The main difference will be more time scheduled between appointments and fewer people in the office at a time. For children/young adults, we ask that parents remain in their vehicles. To be sure, we will likely be tweaking these guidelines as per our governing bodies updates and request your patience a little longer as we adapt to our new routines. Starting Thursday, May 28th, we will be in the office again on a regular basis, however we will not be seeing any drop-ins. Apologies for any inconvenience.

To our valued patients, We are writing this e-mail to inform you that as part of BC’s phase 2 restart plan, we will be allowed to provide non-emergency treatment very soon. We want to thank every one of our patients for their understanding and patience during these uncertain times and unforeseen mandated closure. We want you to know that your health and safety is our number one priority, therefore, please expect a change on numerous protocols and procedure to maximize the saf...ety of everyone. We encourage you to discuss the details when booking your appointment. Appointments: We will soon be contacting patients to reschedule appointments that got cancelled due to closure. Please be patient with getting your new appointment as our scheduling will be looking different and we will be required to open in a limited capacity with added safety protocol. Please understand we will be doing our best to make sure everyone is seen in a fair manner but patients with the most urgent care needs will be scheduled to be seen first. If you have an appointment booked currently which we have not yet gotten in touch with you about, it will most likely need to be rescheduled (new time or to a new day) due to the new scheduling limitations we will be in touch with you regarding this as soon as we can. Safety of patients and staff: Infection control will continue to be our top priority. We have taken this time to come up with strict criteria and operating protocols to ensure the health and safety of everyone. Our office staff will be equipped with the proper PPE (personal protective equipment) for dealing with each individual patient. Our team has been trained and excels in sterilization and are prepared for the additional infection control guidelines. Protocols for patients: Please understand that while we do our best to keep the safety of everyone, we do still need the help of our patients by following these protocols. - Prior to your appointment you will be asked screening questions. - Your temperature will be taken upon entry. - You will be asked to use hand sanitizer. - Please come alone to your appointment. - There will not be any magazines in the waiting room as they cannot be disinfected. - To keep with social distancing, we ask you wait in your car when possible until your scheduled appointment times. - We ask that you please refrain from using the bathrooms. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate through these changes. We look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay safe!

We are temporarily closed in compliance with the direction of Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix for all British Columbians to take action to keep ourselves and our community safe. At this time, we are only seeing patients in the office for true dental emergencies. This includes toothaches, knocked-out teeth, or fractured teeth WITH PAIN. Please contact Dr Jake Taraskiewicz at 1-778-687-0294, and he or Andrea Robbins (Certified Dent...al Assistant) will contact you for an assessment. If you do need to come to our office, rest assured that we are following the same high levels of sterilization that we always have, combined with additional attention to our waiting room and stairwell. We are asking any patients coming into the office to please wait in their car until we come down to get you, enabling us to wipe everything down in between patients, allowing us to have one patient in the office at a time. We are all practicing social distancing and staying home as much as possible to ensure our health and safety as well as yours. Best wishes to you during this confusing time. See more

Dear friends and patients of Salt Spring Dental, We will be closed at least one more day due to technical difficulties. Our tech has been on site both remotely and in person since last Thursday helping us to restore our system. We're hoping to be back up and running by Thursday, however the weather is doing it's best to delay that timeline as well. Please know we are doing everything we can to serve our patients in the meantime. If you leave a message, someone will return your call later in the week. Thank you again for you your patience.
