This is the post I, Shane shared on our page prior to learning that my father received a legitimate verbal contract to stay in the store til June 2018.
We have retrieved the cat. Thank you for your support.
We having been patiently waiting for the return of #PRINCESSSCRUFFY. The bailiff stated she would be handed over today. My dad is a wreck. #freeprincessscruffy #coredevelopment
September 22, 2017 Reply from The Salvage Shop concerning Core Development Group at 287 McPherson Ave, Suite 101 The Salvage Shop would like to address the misinformation that has been shared by Core Development Group.... Firstly, the September 3rd Agreement was enticed upon Mr. Clifford by Core Development when Mr. Clifford was under intensive custody after barely surviving a suicide attempt. The 10,000 dollars was a bribe to stop Mr. Clifford from speaking to the news media. The 10,000 dollars was returned to Core Development when Mr. Clifford served Legal Documents for a December 15/2017 Court Hearing for breach of the agreement that Mr. Clifford may continue to occupy The Salvage Shop until June 2018. Core Development took the law into their own hands when they broke into Mr. Clifford's studio when he was sleeping and forced him onto the street without any shoes on his feet. Secondly, we have audio recording evidence of Core Development confirming receipt of the return of the 10.000 dollar bribe. Core Development has just self exposed themselves to the world wide community as being dishonest and manipulators who will be held accountable before The Courts for their insidious core of nothing but smoke and mirrors greed. _
We don't know how other developers operate, but what Core Development has done to The Salvage Shop is inhuman. Now that my father's pet has been rescued I am worried he will begin focusing on all the things that caused him to originally have a breakdown. Because my father has lost a few people including his best friend and roommate he began living in the store. He has now lost his belongings, besides the clothes on his back. I feel I need to be in two places at once. I am... afraid to leave my father alone, but I am neglecting my wife and small children who are hundreds of kilometres away. Our original lawyer lead us to believe he would help us and without warning informed us he was too busy for our case. Now we find ourselves in a vulnerable position against an adversary set out to totally destroy us. We are having great difficulty finding a lawyer for this type of situation. After twenty-five years of hard work the business was annihilated in one day. We feel this is disgusting. Where is there any justice in this. We pray this doesn't continue to happen to other families with small businesses. We've been asked by a human rights investigator "how can this happen in a democracy in the twenty first century?" My father needs to find a lawyer to get a Court Order to get back inside The Salvage Shop Any help you can provide in finding a lawyer is urgent and warmly appreciated. https://globalnews.ca//cat-stuck-in-boarded-up-scarborough... #saveprincessscruffy #coredevelopment
Condo developers are destroying small businesses and in our case they are doing it illegally. My father was given three different eviction dates. He became so distraught and heartbroken after the latest short notice, he had a mental breakdown and tried to take his life over it. In turn breaking my heart. This money driven company has shown how cruel they can be. We started a Court action against Core Development to protect our rights as tenants. Tonight for a second time... we have been illegally locked out by Core Development who are attempting to circumvent the Court process. By hiring a bailiff, manipulating the Police to act in a manner beyond their jurisdiction, occupying the premises with private security and immediately bring in a moving comany. They are hastily moving our inventory to an undisclosed locating in a zealous attempt to make it impossible to continue business. My biggest concern is for my father's wellbeing and his biggest concern seems to be rescuing his cat. Please share our story
The shop is open Tues. - Sat., 10am - 4pm. Hope to see you soon
The Salvage Shop's story has been unfolding for twenty years and right now we don't know if we're coming or going. From one day to the next our plans change like the price of gas. We greatly apologize to our customers for the confusion and any inconvenience. What we do know is that we love this business and we're trying to head in the direction that will make us bigger and better than we've ever been. I've said it before, "thank you for your continued support". For the foreseeable future The Salvage Shop's hours of operation will be Friday and Saturday 10am - 4pm. Our answering machine is full and no one has the ambition to go through them, Sorry. Feel free to call. We're probably here and we would love to hear from you.
Ok, here it is. the Birch Cliff sign. This is where everyone will be able to view previous bids. I will be checking the emails shortly and getting us all up to date. thank you for your patients
The Salvage Shop is entering a new era. Business as usual is on hold. Thank you for all of the support you have shown, thank you for thinking about us and for following us on Facebook. We are going to be going through a lot of inventory, we'll keep you up to date with the treasures we expose.
We're coming to the end of our time at 1492 Kingston Rd. The search for a location that would be able to accommodate us is still continuing without any luck. We have received a 4 week extention, so it doesn't look good.
