Our vegetable garden has been planted. Big thank you to Major Faith Cameron who has been looking after the garden for the past few years and to volunteer Tracy for helping out with the planting this year. We will be looking forward to seeing the garden grow and the harvest of fresh produce that will benefit our Family Services.

We have several cans of similac formula at our Paris Food Bank that are dated for April 21. If you can use these, or know someone who can, please PM us to make pickup arrangements. We'd hate to see these go to waste as we just don't have enough need for them right now with our clientele. Thanks in advance!

As of Monday, December 21st Brant County and the city of Brantford will be moving into the RED Zone for Covid restrictions. Whether or not individual stores would allow us to continue to stand by the kettles, according to Salvation Army guidelines we will not be physically hosting any kettles in RED/GRAY Zones. We will leave the Tiptap units out with additional signage. The best way for the public to donate during our final week of our kettle campaign is to donate our fill the kettle online campaign https://kettle.salvationarmy.ca//brantford-community-and-f or www.salvationarmybrantford.ca/donate

Here's a throwback to 2 years ago! Never did we think Christmas without a toy distribution would be a thing. Its been a different year for us here and definitely not favorable, but staff, volunteer and client safety was priority this year during this pandemic and we couldn't see a way to make it work any other way this year due to certain circumstances. Heres to hoping! Our fingers are crossed we can load these tables up with toys again next year and get our donors involved... once again! Our Christmas Distribution has come to an end this year, so we shall wait to see how themonths ahead unfold and begin to plan again for 2021. -Will & Nicole.

It’s been a difficult year for Canadians. The Salvation Army has seen the number of people needing support skyrocket. Due to the coronavirus, more and more people are facing new financial challenges and frightening realities. The Christmas Kettle Campaign enables The Salvation Army to provide practical assistance to thousands of families and individuals who have been met with hard times. We need the help and support of Canadians who can donate more now than ever. When you se...e those red kettles out this year, please consider donating, even if it is a small amount, as every little bit helps. We will have "tip tap" machines at our kettles this year at various locations, which will allow you to tap your debit to make a donation. Additionally, you can donate online at https://www.salvationarmybrantford.ca/donatefinancial.html We would like to Thank each and every one of you in advance for your donations. Without your donations, we could not provide our Christmas Hamper program or run our food banks, and offer other supports to those in need within our community.

The Salvation Army Brantford & Paris Community & Family Services 12.10.2020

Today is the first day of our famous red kettles being out in various places throughout Brantford and Paris. We are actively searching for volunteers to help us out this year. Did you know that by volunteering for a kettle shift, you are helping to raise funds for our Christmas Hamper Program and our Food Bank , plus many other services and assistance we offer. This year, we need you now more then ever! Challenge your co-workers and fill a kettle for the day or challenge you...r friends and family to tag along with you! Covid 19 protocols have been put into place to help keep everyone safe. Interested in more info or volunteering? Please call the church phoneline at 519-752-7813 or message us today!

As we enter Phase 3 tomorrow, the mandatory face covering bylaw comes into effect for Brantford. As staff, we have discussed how to handle these changes with the layout of our facility, staffing, proper PPE, etc, all while maintaining social distancing. We have made the difficult decision to curbside pickups only at this time. Essentially , this means no clients will be entering our facility at this time during food bank hours. * You are still required to call the morning y...ou wish to come in(Wednesday or Friday) and make your appointment for that afternoon. *The majority of intakes will be done over the phone in the morning, but we do require everyone to bring ID still to access our services. *We have a table located just outside the front door with hand sanitizer available. *We will try to have staff outside at all times as well to make this as easy as we can for everyone, but please knock on the door if someone is not outside so we know you have arrived. *We will pack your order and bring it outside to you in a shopping cart once you have arrived. *ALSO , don't forget our Brantford Food Bank is now accessible every 60 days! We thank you for your understanding and patience. We will keep you all updated with any changes as this situation evolves over time. Let's stay healthy and get through this together as a community. If you have any further questions, please message us, call us at 519-752-7814 or email Will or Nicole and we would be happy to help.
