My son, Marco Carnello, gave me this shirt several years ago in honour of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, (R.B.G.). And, today, I proudly wear it, in honour of her passing. In honour of a woman who advanced the rights of all women and men too in ways that affect all areas of our lives. And, the lives of future generations so they, too, have equal rights, under the law. Marco is a lawyer, and he taught me how important the law is for protecting our freedoms. Today is a sad day but also a proud day to honour R.B.G. as a modern day Yogini, someone who used her gifts to bring the goodness of life, through the law, to make our lives better. Today we are reminded of the way she touched us, and we are humbled and grateful. She reminds us that we, too, must stand up, each in our own way, for future generations. R.B.G. taught us to never give up.

Helen Reddy wrote the song, I AM WOMAN. Most women, like myself, sang I AM WOMAN in 1972, as an anthem of the women's movement. It went to #1 on the charts. Hel...en passed away on September 29, 2020 at the age of 78. In honour of Helen Reddy; and the women's movement, that continues to raise awareness of what women (and men) continue to strive for; and the "International Day of the Girl" that empowers the education of young girls around the world, I leave you with the words to I AM WOMAN. (This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes, as I recall my own struggles.) I am woman, hear me roar In numbers too big to ignore And I know too much to go back an' pretend 'Cause I've heard it all before And I've been down there on the floor No one's ever gonna keep me down again Oh yes, I am wise But it's wisdom born of pain Yes, I've paid the price But look how much I gained If I have to, I can do anything I am strong (Strong) I am invincible (Invincible) I am woman You can bend but never break me 'Cause it only serves to make me More determined to achieve my final goal And I come back even stronger Not a novice any longer 'Cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul Oh yes, I am wise But it's wisdom born of pain Yes, I've paid the price But look how much I gained If I have to, I can do anything I am strong (Strong) I am invincible (Invincible) I am woman I am woman watch me grow See me standing toe to toe As I spread my lovin' arms across the land But I'm still an embryo With a long, long way to go Until I make my brother understand Oh yes, I am wise But it's wisdom born of pain Yes, I've paid the price But look how much I gained If I have to, I can face anything I am strong (Strong) I am invincible (Invincible) I am woman I am woman I am invincible I am strong I am woman I am invincible I am strong I am woman
Loved making this poster to honour John Lewis, especially his humbleness. An honest man, who strived to stand under and lift up so many around him.
A wonderful mantra to place in the background of your mind until you feel it run through your body, without the words, until they rise up on their own when needed. May all beings be peaceful and happy.
May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy. A Buddhist mantra I began using on Sept. 11 2001 when planes flew into the World Trade Centre. Wishing peace and happiness to victims and terrorists alike with May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy. May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy is a mantra that runs through my body when there seems to be nothing I can do about the suffering around, and in, me, May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy runs through a groove in my body from the constant silent repeating of May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy. May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy, May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy, May All Beings be Peaceful and Happy.

What to do with your sleepless nights .... Sleepless nights happen to us all, and when they happen to me this is what I do... See what to do when sleep eludes you.
Deep Breathing Keeps 80 year-old Father Alive Raj says that perhaps the key factor when it came to treating his father was the fact that their home was already equipped with a continuous positive airway pressure, or CPAP machine, for Suri's sleep apnea. "When Dad's breathing got worse, I was advised to use the machine," he said, explaining that when his father's condition was at its most serious, the device -- which helps patients breathe more easily -- was being used for up... to 16 hours a day on the doctor's advice. The GP also advised that Suri should be helped to lie on his stomach for a number of hours a day -- a practice known as prone positioning. Doctors have found that placing the sickest coronavirus patients on their stomachs can help increase the amount of oxygen getting into their lungs. FOR FULL STORY CLICK HERE https://cnn.it/2yAxqk1 I was so happy to read this story, as I've been using Kapalabhati breath or the power breath (as I call it) to oxygenate and work my lungs. As I show in the video it releases emotional blockages from our bodies, and we feel lighter and more free. Regular practice lifts our energy and mood, and we are more confidant and hopeful. TO PRACTICE POWER BREATH CLICK HERE https://youtu.be/CTtWNWLaWqU In addition Raj placed his father in the prone position, on his tummy. This increases oxygen since most of the breathing muscles are on the back of our body. By turning this father over, the front of his body is compressed, activating his back breathing muscles. This increases oxygen, energy flows, and anxiety decreases. This is the reason I emphasize Back Breathing. Back breathing frees the diaphragm, Prana moves through the body, the mind quiets, and we feel peaceful, instantly. FOR BACK BREATH CLICK HERE https://youtu.be/E0d0GDmoN6E While there subscribe to my Youtube channel. "Nothing of a lower vibration enters into a higher energy field. It is dissolved on contact."

Wow! Back Breathing Saves Coronavirus Patients Doctors are finding that placing the sickest coronavirus patients on their stomachs -- called prone positioning - increases the amount of oxygen getting to their lungs. "We're saving lives with this, one hundred percent," said Narasimhan, the regional director for critical care at Northwell Health, which owns 23 hospitals in New York. "It's such a simple thing to do, and we've seen remarkable improvement. We can see it for ever...y single patient." "Once you see it work, you want to do it more, and you see it work almost immediately," added Dr. Kathryn Hibbert, director of the medical ICU at Massachusetts General Hospital. Placing patients on their stomachs increases oxygen because most of our breathing muscles are on the back of our body. Back Breathing creates more breath; Prana flows, and the conditioned 'rascal' mind becomes quiet. This is the reason I emphasize Back Breathing. Back breathing frees the diaphragm; energy (Prana) moves through the body, the mind is quiet, and we feel peaceful, instantly. "Prana either feeds your body, or it feeds your mind. When it feeds your body, your mind is quiet." GREAT information. Please share this video.
Rebirthing Ourselves Through Meditation On this video I share my major rebirth, and how it brought me into the practice of Meditation.... Meditation helps us transform our negative aspects and notice our positive ones. We support others, as well as ourselves, and slip into a peaceful open state of mind. Meditation is life transforming, effective, and easy to do. It becomes part of our everyday lives. Meditation: 1. Close your eyes, and take deep, comfortable breaths. 2. Allow your mind to run over your last few days. Notice what you consider to be negative, and decide how you are going deal with it, in your daily life. Note this, in your mind; and act on it, in your life. 4. Then, let yourself notice and, feel, your positive aspects. 5. Bring to mind what you are going through, emotionally, in your life, and inwardly support yourself through it. 6. Bring to mind the people, who are closest to you. Think of one specific thing you appreciate about them. For example, "I appreciate Bob. He took out the garbage." Run through the people in your wider communities. And, the difficult ones! 7. Notice what moves through your mind. Allow the 'junk' to move on out. Hold on to whatever is Important to remember. 8. Move deeper into resting into yourself. Whatever comes into your mind, either dismiss it, or allow it to inform you. Repeat the above steps daily. In the beginning, it takes time to organize your mind. After awhile, it happens quickly. Even while on-the-go, you notice and correct your negative aspects. You embrace your positive ones. And, notice and appreciate the people in your life. Supporting yourself, you are pulled into nourishing sensations of peace. "Meditation without intellectual inquiry is pacification". Dalai Lama A question for you. As some of you know, it's been a long held dream of mine to visit the pyramids, and the Temple of Luxor, in Egypt. We just recently returned home from visiting them. When I saw the pyramids, and later the Temple of Luxor, tears of joy welled up inside of me. At the Temple of Luxor, my third-eye expanded inside my head, and I wanted to stand in the little rooms, which were the same, even through the Temple has gone through many renovations since it was first constructed some 1300 BC. Both Bob and I are strengthened by our visit there. Below, the photos are of the great pyramid of Giza. 148 feet tall. Built almost 3000 BC!!! .... The Sphinx ... human head and lion body ... Approx. 4500 BC and weighs 200 tons! Totally awe inspiring!! ... and standing in the hall way of the Temple of Luxor it impressed me the most!
So look forward to sharing my journey into the Yoga Sutras with you, and hope it inspires you to delve deeper into your Yoga, and your life!! All proceeds go to sharing Yoga with those, without access. To Register, please go to: http://www.yogaoutreach.com/events and scroll down. Thank you.

What Does Yoga Mean to Vancouver These Days? Thought you'd find this article in Vancouver Magazine interesting. It addresses Yoga in Vancouver, these days! Becca Clarkson, the author, interviewed several Yoga teachers, and quotes Evelyn Neaman and myself. ... Evelyn grew up next door to me when I was a young mother of three. We remained friends, and Evelyn took to Yoga! How wonderful to be sharing our thoughts on Yoga, together! I particularly like the article because it expresses what I believe about Yoga, these days, in a truthful but harmless way. To read the article, press the link, below; and let me know what you think! http://vanmag.com//what-does-yoga-mean-to-vancouver-these/

Yoga Retreat at Kingfisher. Feeling blessed!!
Today is my birthday. I am 76 years old and that sounds a lot older than 75! I had a scare last week. I ended up in the hospital and was misdiagnosed with a heart attack. I just knew it couldn't be true but the marker was there in my blood; and I was feeling weak and dizzy. After tests they said my heart was clear and healthy! (I AM healthy!) It seems the problem was caused by a strong heart flutter. (My heartbeat is calm and regular.) The good part is, my family rallied ar...ound me and I felt loved, appreciated and supported. I told my grandchildren that I am still holding out for three digits (100 years!) and will celebrate with a Headstand, on every birthday! Here is my Headstand to celebrate 76 years! And, a Shoulderstand too, which is really my favourite asana because it dissolves my fear and anxiety and makes me feel calm. I follow the Shoulderstand with the Plough and then the Fish. The Dalai Lama says, "Never give up". My wish is for you to 'never give up' on your dreams, and may they all come true in 2018! I love you.
Here comes the Holiday Season ... a time for us to use the Yoga we've practiced throughout the year by: **Lighting up our chakras when we see the holiday lights **Invoking peace and good-will when we hear the Christmas carols **Acting with understanding, wisdom & compassion around difficult relatives ... **Opening our hearts so tears, associated with 'holiday pasts', move through us and create more space for us to be present and alive in this Holiday Season. Yoga brings peace by allowing us to breathe into an altered state of tranquility where we view our life with equanimity and compassion during the hustle and bustle of the holidays.
Which one is the real Yogini?
Samadhi Is Peace of Mind We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. Dalai Lama (An excerpt from my book, YogaFiction:YogaTruth, eBook 3; due out in January, 2018) It's long but well worth the read. Read right to the end so you can see how to work with the ' I AM' presence. It is miraculous!!! Let me know what you think :) Thanks!) ...Continue reading
