Who made the rule about going darker in fall? The sun actually! Here in central Alberta Canada, daylight savings time hits us hard. Like, 3hrs of less sunlight type of hard. So it makes sense to go darker because your roots would be coming in a bit darker since there's less sun to fade the melanin within.... But this guest went for a full head of blonde dimension because #wedowhatwewant

H U M P D A Y This guest's hair is getting healthier with each visit! We've lightened twice and in this photo, went for the contrast she's been craving. ... We'll get over that pigment-hump one day, but it'll likely be when her boxdye is grown out and chopped off For now, I'll keep her hair as light and as cool as possible, using everything *but* lightener.

This #bronde is a work in progress toward a lighter way of living. This guest had been working toward platinum but that's a lot of stress in several areas, including the health of her hair. I kept key areas lighter but we dropped the overall color four shades darker!

My feed is loaded with calls to action regarding serious cultural and ethical issues and I'm so grateful that I have opportunities to make change. But I got scared. ... Scared that I'd sacrifice myself too much, away from my family, from work, and honestly, scared that if I didn't act ASAP the world would end. So I did the minimum, and took a bit of time to make sure that when I'm ready to give 110% I can keep my family's needs a priority too.
