Close your eyes. Imagine a crisp early fall evening, the gold and russet hues of the trees beneath a deep blue fading Autumn sky. The tomato leaves yellowing on the vine, the heroic sunflowers drooping under the weight of their seeds. A campfire, the aroma of fallen leaves, a cozy sweater and a beautiful glass between your palms. A hint of amber bourbon, a touch of honey and a wisp of sweet pipe smoke. This back label says it all. Hoping you all can zoom into read! When deciding on the why of developing our second candle line I decided to dive deep into the why of lighting candles. To do this I went out- out into my community of friends, peers, colleagues, customers and family and I asked the question: :Why do you light candles? I loved all the answers I received, the discussions that ensued and the glimpses into the little rituals that I never could have imagined. It was s...o incredibly inspiring, I was even more excited to create this new line. So, I hope that this post or reading the label of #spiritflamecandles inspires you to honour a little ceremony, to celebrate the little moments and light a candle in honour. Our new line up of candles - Spirit Flame by Sanctuary Lavender- will be on the website by Wednesday evening! We have been working really hard on sourcing the highest quality essential and fragrance oils for our luxe line of soy candles. Testing, testing and more testing, sharing with friends and family for feedback and finally designing and finalizing the packaging and branding. It's been a many months long process, especially during Covid, when receiving our jars suddenly b...ecame impossible. We had to change jars, lids,boxes and labels over and over due to supply chain issues. One of the best things about 2020 and Covid has been teaching us to become super adaptable, agile and full of grace when it comes to all parts of a creative process. (Or all parts of life, right??) And our customers and stockists have been understanding and patient and also full of grace, and the community building, love and support has nourished my soul to say the least. Decided to dress up to harvest today. Why not! I bought this beautiful vintage dress years ago and have yet to find a place to wear it. Our fields this morning seemed like a great opportunity. Now it is 35 degrees and trust me the dress came off, and on went the loosest, coolest sundress with big pockets full of elastics. We are finished our farm tours so we can work really hard this week to get the harvest done. You can still pop by to visit our farm shop if you want, but tours are over. It is a peaceful way to take a break in the day!
