Election day is tomorrow, and I want to share why I'm running for Regional Council with anyone I haven't been able to talk to in person: I’m looking forward to representing St. Catharines on Niagara Regional Council and making sure that community comes first. The top priorities I’ve heard as your Grantham City Councillor are: Investing to make St. Catharines more affordable, stand up for our seniors, and ensure that we strengthen police services in our downtown. ... 1. INVESTING IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING Every one deserves a home in St. Catharines. My commitment to you is to always champion new, innovative and faster ways of bringing more affordable housing to St. Catharines to meet the demands of our community’s most in need. 2. STANDING UP FOR SENIORS It is time we give back to those who built our community. As your Regional Councillor, I will ensure Niagara Region’s community programs for seniors are a priority and that the upcoming redevelopment of Linhaven meets the long term care needs of our parents and grandparents. 3. STRENGTHENING POLICE SERVICES As a long time victims’ rights advocate, I know that Niagara’s police services needs to be strengthened in St. Catharines. I will work tirelessly to increase frontline officers, strengthen community engagement initiatives and oversee the construction of the new St. Catharines’ police detachment.
