With all the focus on getting Christmas orders ready for the special custom orders we received from customers, my postings have been a bit sparse. After Christmas, I will post some of our creations, but I can't do that now in case I ruin a Christmas surprise. So, here is a post of one of the very early pieces that we did back in the early 1990s. A much-treasured set of reindeer and Santa's sleigh. We only made a few of these and most were given as gifts to the family. This one is our own and it comes out each year to grace a spot somewhere in our home. I think of all the things we have learned about working with wood along the way and over the years, yet this one remains very special to us.

Red pickup trucks have become an iconic Christmas item since the widely viewed Hallmark series of Christmas shows hit the TV airwaves and streaming services a few years ago. We had our own shop made version of the little red pickup back in 2018 and it was a hit with family and our customers. This year we are updating the 'Li'l Red Pickup' to a more modern and detailed version based on the creative scroll creations of Kendra Chura of Michigan. With Kendra's permission and patt...ern, we have created our own take on the Red Pickup truck complete with Christmas trees to finish off the festive touch. There is lots of detailed scroll and shaping work done on this one. The painting is artistically done by Chris. This festive beauty has been added to one of our 18" Merry Christmas Rounds. There are "Jolly" things happening in the workshop this week. This new creation is ready for the magic of paint by Chris. That is when these creations move from wood blank to "..life..". Final photos will follow when completed. A busy workshop is a happy, happening place.
