Living with Wildlife in Winnipeg Beach... Re: Foxes in the town of Winnipeg Beach Since the beginning of spring 2020, the Town and its property owners have been experiencing issues related to Foxes. The foxes appear to have taken up residence in town and are frequently encountered by residents in the Boundary Creek, lake front area and other areas of the Town and Provincial Park.... Many property owners have brought their concerns to the Town office; their concerns mainly revolving around the fact that the foxes are not afraid of human beings and are frequently visiting their yards, their decks and are becoming a nuisance and worry. Trapping and relocating of wildlife is not a task that the Winnipeg Beach Animal Control Officer undertakes; as well, information received from Manitoba Sustainable Development indicates that their staff will not proceed with trapping and relocating at this time. The Town would like to remind all property owners and visitors that all wildlife must be treated with caution and to follow some basic principles to avoid and reduce the likelihood of an unpleasant or dangerous encounter; DO NOT FEED WILD ANIMALS; foxes have become accustomed to people, who have become providers for them; Feeding them is the worst possible thing to do. If they can attain food easily, they will not leave. Feed pets indoors and keep pet food in a secure place. Remove food sources like pet food, garbage and ensure barbeques are clean. Note that Foxes are opportunistic and will take food where they can find it. Supervise children at all times. Be aware of your surroundings and the species of wildlife you may encounter and exercise extra caution at night, dusk or the early morning. Never walk alone in a wooded area. Never approach or chase wild animals. Do not allow your dog to chase wild animals as this may provoke an attack on the dog and yourself. Note: Pursuant to Animal Control Bylaw 2/2014; Dogs should be on a leash at all times when on public property. Never crowd wildlife even if they do not seem agitated, give them plenty of room to leave the area. Carry a walking stick and a noise making device like an air horn or loud whistle. It's been an adventurous spring with the weather we've been having. Having said that we should have the water on tomorrow shortly after noon. There will be a boil water advisory until we get our test results back from the lab.So there will be no fires until water is on.

The park will be open Monday May 4. As all other previous years water is not turned on until frost is out of the ground. There will be no water available at the park. People may walk in and check their trailers and sites prior to May 4 but cannot stay overnight and park will close at 6pm. Any questions please call 204-389-5389

We would like to thank all the frontline workers for their extraordinary effort at this time. We are experiencing some very unusual and stressful times as campers as well as owners.We have been deemed a non-essential business and currently are under government regulations that we cannot open prior to April 27th.We will keep you informed of any future changes. We have targeted May 1st as opening day and are hopeful that we hit our target. When we do open it is likely that so...cial distancing will still be in place therefore certain areas of the park will remain closed ie. Washrooms,playground,pool.
