Honest Love Project by Sandy Tam 04.02.2021

She used to be the voice I’d listen to every morning during my morning drop offs at my daughter’s school. She would lift me and get me motivated to start my work day. With the move to Vancouver, I am still finding my daily drift and have yet to incorporate her podcasts into my life again, which I miss so much. But her words of wisdom never stops ringing loud and clear in my heart and mind. I am a strong believer in her mantra - Everything is Figuroutable . Now, her wor...ds are in book form! I have been waiting for monthssss for this. And I am doing my mini road trip down to Seattle this Tuesday for her book signing, which I am SUPER excited about. If you don’t know who she is, it is time to find out!! #Repost @marieforleo (1/3) Getting Everything Is Figureoutable out of my heart and onto the page was a long and challenging process. Late nights, early mornings and more than my fair share of frustration and self-doubt. But writing the book is only *half* the battle. . Designing a cover that captured the essence of this idea was another puzzle to be solved. While the content of any book is far more important than the cover design the cover still matters. . Think about it. For someone browsing their local bookstore, the book’s cover might be the *only* reason they pick it up. While we can’t always put our finger on it, great design draws us closer and makes some part of us say, Yes please! or What is that? I need to learn more . TBH, I was nervous about how this would turn out. I’m used to having complete creative control over everything I do (which I like). My creative team is made up of magical design unicorns not having them in 100% charge of the book cover made us anxious. #EverythingIsFigureoutable #EIFtheBook #MarieForleo #penguinbooks #penguinrandomhouse #bookstagram #authorsofinstagram #writersofinstagram #womenwhowrite #kindlebook #audiobook #nookbook

My first introduction to Vancouver was their Chinatown. Alb’s dad was a fantastic chef and most of my bonding time with him happened here during our strolls through these streets. We would go from store to store to find the freshest meat and produce for the best price (yes, you can negotiate!) It was one of my favourite memories of my past visits and of him. Now, there are lots of vacant units and many of the grocery stores have been replaced by new pop ups, coffee shops ...and gyms. I am happy, however, to see that one of dad’s favourite fish stores is still around and the employees are still filled with the same level of enthusiasm to try to sell you that extra pound of fish. Alb scored a 4 pound hunk of salmon for $30! I am looking forward to our festive meal tonight in honour of the Full Moon festival and of dad and all those Chinatown ventures he brought me on #vancouverchinatown #yvrfoodies #chinatown #fullmoonfestival #mooncakefestival #mooncake #memoriesofdad

Water is to the north (not south) and look up to find the mountains if I’m lost. Two important navigation tips I got since moving to Vancouver from Toronto. . It really has been a humbling experience in so many ways. There is so much I don’t know and so much I don’t know that I don’t know. But one thing is for sure. I know that no matter where I move to, I can still find comfort in the arms of my family because Home is truly wherever they are . .... . . . . #hellonewhome #homeiswheretheheartis #homeishere #newcity #crosscanada #momlife #momwithgoals #mommyhood #lifelessons #lifeofadventure #abmlifeiscolorful #abmhappylife #happylifestyle #youdontknowwhatyoudontknow #growingup #homesweethome #homeoffice See more

13 days on the road, 4000+ kilometres travelled, 3 camp grounds, 1 AirBnB, 1 hotel, 1 farm and many many many rounds of are we there yet? and my bum bum hurts later, we are 2 hours away from our final destination. . How am I feeling? Sad that the trip is gonna be over soon. Still in awe with how big and beautiful Canada is. Extremely proud of my kids for being so tolerant on the road and dealing with all the changes like a champ. Thinking back to everything my hubby a...nd I have accomplished as a couple, I feel super proud and so thankful that we both welcome crazy adventures. Trying not to think too far ahead in terms of what our life will look like in Vancouver because it still makes me nervous. Feeling grateful that our car did not get stolen (although there was a close call on one occasion). Feeling invincible, like nothing is impossible. Feeling happy. I mean, really REALLY happy and FREE. And above all, feeling SO in LOVE with my family . . BEST road trip music ever! . Been playing the Moana soundtrack on repeat for a large part of the trip because Blythe likes it. Turns out I like it too! It has a nice vibe and the lyrics are very empowering . .... . . . . . #roadtrip #roadtripwithkids #crosscanada #crosscanadaroadtrip #movingtovancouver #movingcrosscountry #ontheroad #hittingtheroad #moanasoundtrackonrepeat #moanababy #moana #disneymoana #musicfortheroad #disneyprincess #disneyprincesses See more

While on the road the other day, my daughter said mom, I miss our house and my bedroom. I didn’t quite know how to respond except with a I know sweetie, me too. . I have always been of the belief that ‘home is wherever my family is’ and we are not defined by our possessions. For this reason, I’ve never grown a strong attachment to any one particular house. But I did have a moment of sadness on the day we moved out because it was the first home that both my kids grew u...p in. So I spent a bit of time to write up A Tribute to My House on the blog. . If homes have feelings, then I hope our home will know that we didn’t abandon her. We are just lending her out to another family who is creating more beautiful memories with her . . . . . . . #homesweethome #ourlittlefamily #byebyehome #byebyehouse #townhouseliving #townhouse #homefor6years #possessions #familyontheroad #loveiswherefamilyis #minimalisthome #minimalist #minimalisticlifestyle #livingwithintention #shopwithintention #whereveryougo #crosscanada #crosscanadaroadtrip #movingon #movingtovancouver #yyztoyvr #movingtogether #movingtripadventures See more
