Something to think about... What if your dog swallows the whole mask or your cat consumes the elastic? Usually these relatively small pieces of material will pass in the bowel movement within a couple of days, but they could cause an intestinal obstruction. If there is a decrease, see your veterinarian, and do inform them of the missing material. Today you are reading that the ICUs in Winnipeg have been filled with Covid patients, that elective surgeries have been canceled to free up staff and beds to accommodate an influx of patients and that new restrictions will be placed to try and slow the spread of Covid. These new restrictions will take weeks to achieve their goal of relieving the burden on the healthcare system. Reduce your social contacts for a couple weeks, wash your hands frequently, wear a mask if you are unable to distance at your place of work, stay home and go get tested if you are sick. It's not just about doing one thing. We must do all the things. This is not just about keeping the healthcare system from being overwhelmed. This is about keeping schools and daycares open so that children can socialize and their parents can work. This is about protecting your local businesses so that they can continue to operate and provide essential services and jobs. You don't necessarily have to stay home, but you definitely have to be smart in your day to day activities.
