DECEMBER MARKET STATS ARE OUT! The Edmonton market in December saw an increase in year-over-year unit sales, compared to a decrease in month-to-month sales, says REALTORS Association of Edmonton Chair Tom Shearer. There have also been more sales of single-family homes, condos and duplexes compared to December of last year, while we’ve seen decreasing month over month sales in all markets, which is typical for this time of year. Total year-to-date residential sales for 202...0 came in at 17,036 a 2.94% increase compared to 2019. Here’s a little breakdown: - December sales were up 31.47% from the year before. - There were 17.29% fewer homes listed than the previous year. - The average sale price was $362,447. I got to share the most AMAZING NEWS with my beautiful friend & client today, that her home is officially sold. Today was the first time in 2020 that a client was able to successfully make me shed a few tears, but it was tears of happiness! In the real estate world, some properties take longer to sell than others and this one was certainly a journey. I’m very thankful that she was incredibly patient throughout the entire process. A few weeks ago, we put our heads together &... came up with a strategy that involved purchasing different furniture for the space, relisting the home with new photos of the revamped interior & priced the home competitively. And BOOM! SOLD! 2020 has certainly had it’s ups & downs, but I could not be happier that my client gets to finish off the year with closing this chapter & moving onto bigger & better things (which also involves a gorgeous new home).
