Who wants this for lunch or dinner today?? I sadly don't have any rice ready to go but I'm feeling some of the brown rice ramen noodles in my pantry instead. Black bean spaghetti would also be lovely for more protein! ... Seaweed is fabulous for thyroid support. Use nori sheets or seaweed chips, rehydrate some wakame or arame strips, or sprinkle with dulse flakes. #FoodieFriday #FridayFeeling #WorldVeganMonth #VeganFoodShare #VeganRecipeShare #VeganBowls #VeganEats #PlantPowered #Herbivore #SushiBowl #HormoneHealth #ThyroidSupport #SeaVegetables

Fueling up for a big day the plant-powered way I got treated to takeout lunch this afternoon, knowing I have so much on my metaphorical plate working on December and New Year content and programs. I opted for 2 sides from @copperbranchbarrhaven to 1) satisfy my need for many colourful veggies with one of their fabulous salads, and 2) enjoy a super-comforting take on vegan spicy buffalo wings. ... Feeling fueled up and ready for the rest of the day! Why do resolutions suck? A lot of the time it's a combination of the following: stress - it's easy to stick to a long list of resolutions when times are otherwise dull, but when things pick up again (like work, school, and other commitments), new stuff gets pushed aside for the comfortable, familiar, autopilot habits.... unrealistic - we go from 0 to 60 overnight on all of them, expecting to be awesome at them in a few weeks, and get upset or embarrassed when that doesn't happen in the timeline we imagined. low priority - we want the things to happen somehow, to work for us somehow, but haven't really done much to find a place for working on them in our everyday routines. lack of clarity - we choose nebulous resolutions like "eat healthier" or "get fit" without a direction, without considering our starting point, or having a clear reason for why we even want that. I'll be expanding on this and what to do instead in a blog post to be published tomorrow. In the meantime, it helps a lot to work on your mindset when taking on new goals. Start here! Which of these mindset shifts do you most need to work on?? #Mindset #Motivation #WednesdayWisdom #WednesdayWellness #Priorities #IBelieveInYou #SelfCare #GrowthMindset #NewYear2021 #LovePlantsForLife

Why your breakfast can set up your hormone balance all day - for better or worse When we wake up, our stress hormone cortisol kicks into gear to set off a chain reaction that affects our insulin and ghrelin levels, leading us to seek out food to break the overnight fast. In turn, once we eat, our cortisol levels come down, and our bodies are ready to start the day with the fuel they need to carry out tasks inside and out - including keeping insulin, ghrelin, and other ho...rmones like estrogen, testosterone, and more in check. And it matters what we eat as much as when. Starting your day with a balance of protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats further helps set up good hormone balance, more than a sugary pastry or cereal, by keeping blood sugar levels from surging and crashing first thing in the morning. So here's some hormone-friendly breakfast inspo: avocado toast on whole-grain bread (loaded up like the one I posted yesterday) protein pancakes - add a scoop or two of protein powder or dairy-free Greek yogurt to your next batch green smoothie boosted with hemp hearts, peanut butter, df Greek yogurt, soy or pea milk, protein powder, or even chickpeas or lentils overnight oats - use soy or pea milk as a base liquid and add hemp and chia seeds chickpea or tofu scramble with turmeric and veggies like spinach and mushrooms and a sprinkle of nooch chia pudding, topped with fresh or frozen fruit like berries, apple, banana, goji, or pomegranate like this one (ps: the recipe for this Jeweled Pomegranate Cacao Chia Pudding can be found in my holiday recipe ebook - details at linktr.ee/sara_rhn_loveplants) Which of these breakfast ideas would you love to try, or already love?
