Asma Khan: Asma Khan for City Council Norman Gerestein: Norman Gerestein for Councillor Brian Curtis: B4Brooks Twitter: John Petrie (@jopebrooks) Michael Glynn MacDonald (@michaelinbrooks) Fred Rattai (@FrattaiFred) Reg Radke (@regjoy) Still waiting for platforms. Brian Curtis has promised a 9 point platform.
The election game is on. First sign sighting goes to Dan Klein!
The list of candidates is out. No one is challenging Barry Morishita for Mayor, and there are 13 candidates vying for 6 council seats: David Angell Cathy Corbett-Schock (inc) Brian Curtis... Levi Fernell Norman Gerestein (inc) Asma Khan Dan Klein (inc) Michael Glynn MacDonald Jon Nesbitt John Petrie Bill Prentice (inc) Reg Radke Fred Rattai (inc) No one has published anything as far as a platform yet, and very few have any social media presence. I'll update this list as candidates start publishing information.
Exactly one year after the civic by election, the City of Brooks has announced that it will Respect Taxpayers. I would like to thank Mayor Morishita and City Council for taking a hard look at the books, and finding savings that don't require service cuts, to allow them to cut taxes, as I advocated during the by election. I look forward to the municipal election in October, 2017... http://chattelevision.ca/__news/city-of-brooks-lowers-taxes/
