Hello Everyone! Registered Massage Therapists have been given the green light to reopen our businesses. That being said we have been given regulations that we need to put in place for everyones safety! ... Until further notice I will be taking a reduced amount of clients a day to allow for ample time between appointments to thoroughly sanitize my rooms. I have also made the decision to wear a face mask while I work since a lot of my treatments include working on neck and shoulders while clients are face up. So I understand if you as clients feel more comfortable wearing a mask as well during treatment, I am hoping to have masks available to my clients if you would like to use one. But I leave that decision in your hands. I will also be screening my clients at the initial booking and when you arrive for your appointment. So I kindly ask that if you meet the criteria for one or more of the below symptoms please reschedule your appointment for when you are no longer symptomatic. * Fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath/breathing difficulties * Other symptoms such as muscle aches, fatigue, loss of smell or taste, headache, runny nose, hoarse voice, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea * Have travelled outside of Manitoba in the last 14 days * Have had close contact (face-to-face contact within 2 meters/6 feet) with someone who is ill with cough and/or fever who has travelled outside of Manitoba within 14 days prior to their illness onset (contact may be in Canada or during travel) * Have been in contact in the last 14 days with someone who is confirmed to be a case of COVID19 * Have had laboratory exposure while working directly with specimens known to contain COVID19 I have already been contacted by some of you about appointments and I have started a list with you at the top. I will also start individually contacting clients that had appointments booked with me before I shut down in March. I am excited to be able to get back to work and see you all again, I hope you will bear with me as I navigate this new way of working! Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing as well as can be expected these days! I miss all of my amazing clients, this time away from work has really put into perspective how much joy and peace my job gives me! Thank you to everyone who has been so patient and understanding while small businesses like myself have been trying to navigate this situation we are in! With the new information we have now, compared to a week and a half ago when I first put out my notice of closing my doors, I have come to the decision to close indefinitely while Manitoba is in the State of Emergency. I will be contacting anyone who has a scheduled Massage with me in the next coming days, but in order ...to avoid any confusion I will not be rescheduling appointments at this time. I will be making a list of names and contacting everyone once I am able to get back up and running! The Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba has been doing an amazing job at keeping Registered Massage Therapists like myself up to date with what’s going on and how it applies to us. UPDATE I've Just had communication from the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba and they are suggesting Registered Massage Therapists postpone treatments for the next 14 days. This may change and they will be updating us if/ when it does. ... In the words of our Australian colleagues, As health practitioners, massage therapists have a duty of care in helping to stem the spread of the virus. Taking this responsibility seriously and making tough decisions shows our solidarity and support for front line primary health carers who will have far tougher decisions than us to make in the coming weeks. I sincerely apologize to my clients but we all need to play our part in this rollercoaster!
