Hello Hockey Families. As you likely have figured, Session 3 is currently on hold until the provincial lockdown has been lifted for Lambton County. Please keep checking the website for updates. Thank you and enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
Happy Holidays to all of our hockey families! We hope to see you all soon
U15 coach Tom Babcock sent me this message from Windsor Spitfires headcoach and much loved Sarnia Sting Alumnus Trevor Letowski. Give it a share folks!! Its a much needed message! #FOFMH
Every time you skate with a new group of players, you increase the risks, for all. Please keep this game in context and prioritize safety. We are all in this together.
The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is a $1 million fund dedicated to helping Canadian youth return to hockey during and after COVID-19. It will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants registered with a sanctioned Hockey Canada association. For more information, go to http://assistfund.hockeycanadafoundation.ca/
SHA would like to thank and recognize Jackpot City Gaming Entertainment for their donation. It is because of donations such as these that we are able to make sure families in financial need are able to have their children play hockey! Thanks so much!!
This morning, local hockey hero and retired Firefighter Rick Fraser passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with Cancer. Sarnia Hockey Association would like to offer their sincere condolences to Rick's family in this difficult time. Rick had been involved in hockey for most of his life. His career included three seasons with the OHL's Oshawa Generals, he was a draft pick for the Chicago Blackhawks and he also played in the World Hockey Association for the Indianapolis Racers. Rick could often be seen around Sarnia's arenas, where he continued to Coach and referee long after his playing days were done. In his last few years, he could be seen cheering at the glass for his Grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Are you or someone you know in need of assistance for this hockey season?
That’s Grant (U7 Recreational) and David (U11 AA) warming up SHA brand new replacement goalies. Special Thanks to Forge Hockey for these great on ice tools that are helping make our hockey leagues more versatile and more fun for everyone!
