Finding it difficult to buy for the person who has it all? How about an experience gift? I am offering personalized workshops tailored to you. $150 for one person or $200 for two. At the end of this 3 hour workshop you will come away with your own handpainted silk scarf. Book now before Christmas and you can even use the scarf you paint as a gift for a loved one. Message me to book.
I am hosting a fashion show at Shuswap Artisan Market to showcase the scarves, ponchos, dusters and robes of SaS Art. You get to shop from the comfort of home, sitting on your couch, in pjs perhaps. Watch the live video and comment in the chat on any items you would like to purchase and my lovely assistant will make it happen.
I am so excited about this new design. All of my square paintings can now be worn as a short, sleeveless duster. Message me if you are interested in one in the pictures or would like one custom painted. They will be also on my Facebook store and for sale at the Shuswap Artisan Market.
feel free to share this. I need 2 more people for the class to run.
Working at n Christmas and winter themed silk ponchos. Please let me know your favorite.
Super excited about the commissioned dress Sarah and I are making for a lovely person in Vernon. Fabric is done, now I pass the torch to Sarah to sew some magic
What a great workshop at Blind Bay hall. Ladies you are so creative. I hope you all found the washing instructions. Weather permitting I am contemplating an outside class on Saturday. Message me if interested.
We had another super workshop on the weekend and I am looking forward to posting some pictures. I did want to first send the lovely participants the instructions of how to wash the scarves. 1. iron on silk setting for 5 minutes 2. mix 1/8 cup salt, 1/4 cup vinegar and enough warm water to dissolve the salt. (I add a few drops of lavendar oil here so I don't smell like a pickle). 3. Add 6 cups of ice or at least enough that when you go to submerge your scarf, there are at l...east 10 floating ice cubes. Water must be freezing cold. 4. Soak the scarf for 5 minutes and then wash out the resist lines. Use your fingernail if there is a big blob. Try to be quick here, the less time in water, the better. Once the resist is out, hang to dry and re iron. 5. Wear your beautiful piece of art with a big smile! See more
SaS Art was created with the possibility of Sarah selling her other creations here as well. This beautiful cape is available in 3 sizes with the possibility of custom colors. Lightweight wool for fall, this one with pumpkin orange silk lining. Message us for ordering and price.

A custom order almost finished
I am so excited to share my new color scheme and abstract concept in the sunflower series. I work at the Shuswap Artisan Market tomorrow and will bring all the new pretties. BTW, there are secret, hidden messages in the sunflowers. Come see if you can find them.
Sunflowers embrace the colors of fall while still holding on to summer. I am excited to bring in a new chiffon silk. It is so light, airy and see through. I... do custom orders so if there is a piece you have seen but want it in chiffon, let me know. Thanks again to my favorite model, Lori Onsorge. Please visit and like my business page, SAS Art See more
Drawing up some stencils for our upcoming workshop. Flower power!
This talented daughter of mine wanted to make a dress too. She never ceases to amaze me. The monkey was one of her first independent sewing projects.
Thanks again to my lovely model, Lori Onsorge . These are for sale and will be heading over to the Shuswap artisan market soon.
We are supper excited to announce that we have expanded our line to include fully lined painted silk dresses. They even have a pocket! $150+. Available in s/m and l/xxl
Thank you to my beautiful model, Lori Onsorge and my photographer, Sarah Aylard for coming when I call. This is one of my new favorites and I can hardly wait for sunny weather to use it as a bathing suit cover up. Well, that is if it doesn't sell first.
On rainy days I hang out in the studio. This one is just about ready for the market.
Thank You! With all the news about Covid, there is a big push to support local business. I just wanted to thank all the people who recently liked our page and shared with their friends our art. This is a critical time for so many small businesses and artists. Keep buying local! Thanks again
Working on my online Facebook shopping page. Come have a visit at SaS Art

Sarah and I went out today to soak up vitamin D. The studio is humming during this time. I am excited about the long robes which can be used as a bathing suit cover (when the snow is gone) or to dress up an outfit. I have been laid off from my music job for at least 2 months so I am hoping people will shop! All sales can be done online to keep us safe! I will be working at my online presence to make it easier to buy but for now, if there is something you like, message me.
I have been in the studio since social distancing
I am working to find the right balance between cost and how much people will pay. I was at a fancy lingerie store in Kelowna and they were selling silk robes machine made for $250. Mine are hand painted and work beautiful as a bathing suit cover-up or a night out. They all start out hung on my wall before I cut and sew.
Well, if we can't go out...paint
We had our first workshop in Yarrow and the Community Center! Thank you to those who attended and were patient with us as we ironed out a few kinks. I think you all did amazing and I can hardly wait to host more workshops. Here are a few pictures of our afternoon
It is give away time! I have been working at our Etsy site and it is finally live. I really need the help of some friends, family and happy custumers to iron out some glitches so here is the incentive. All those who have purchased a piece from SaS Art will get 20% off their next piece if they write a review. I am also offering a 2 for the price of one, or a 50% refund for the first person to purchase off our site. You will need to go through the order process, let me know if you prefer the 50% off or a second piece for free, and then I will send back a refund or a second choice. Thanks for supporting local art. Our etsy site is AylardArt
Just uploading some pics of my favorite parts
Day 3 and 4. Someone once asked if I could paint a wall hanging.... These are getting cut and sewn together, but for today.....

Northern lights with moon... 5. Flowers See more
I just started the new series, stained glass tree. The goal is 4 scarves this week so we have a good selection for our first workshop.
This is cool...

Sarah and I are really excited to have a table at this event. Come say"hi"
Sarah says our new model is creepy
4 days until our first event at Wildflower Emporium for their open house. That doesn't leave us much time to get a few more scarves made. Which is your favorite?
These are some of our pretties on display at Wildflower Emporium. If anyone knows where I can find a tree like this please let me know.
Loading more photos as we get ready for the upcoming markets. Big news is that we are selling our pretties at Wildflower Emporium in Salmon arm. I am excited to see where this adventure takes us.
As we get closer to Rememberance Day, I am inspired to make a few Poppy inspired Wearable Art. This one is for sale, as well as a few 22x72 scarves. Message me for details.
People who know me will agree that I am a little bit of a control freak. When I started doing visual art I stuck to oil painting, which is very controllable and avoided anything watercolor, which totally has a mind of its own. Since starting the silk painting I have really embraced the watercolors. I have learned to drop paint and let it go. These two pictures shows what happens when you walk away from a project for a few hours. Now, to translate that freedom into daily life.
Getting the inventory ready for the upcoming Christmas markets. Stay tuned for details.
Sending another picture over to SaS Art. Sarah and I registered for the Blind Bay Christmas Craft fair so we are working on inventory. Nov.16 and 17. Come by and say hi.
These are the results from the photo shoot with Sarah the other day. If any piece of art captures your attention, let me know and I can either send you that one or make one like it. Prices vary between $100 to $400.
Voting time. Which panel should be the front of this kimono style. The owl or trees. The inspiration for the northern lights are thanks to my friend Derina Harvey.
Sarah and I did a bit of a photo shoot. While she is busy editing I just had to send a sneak peak.
some new pictures of new projects. These are all for sale. We have decided not to cut them so the new owner can decide whether they want poncho or kimono style. What the camera can not capture is the silver and gold paint on the bees. Now, I am off to order more supplies.
ust throwing this out for any grade 12 girl who wants an original, hand painted, one of a kind grad dress. This is just to give you an idea of what is possible
a few more pics. Notice our lovely model? This is my mom Lori Onsorge who joins the mother, daughter team to make it 3 generations of ladies working together. Mom brings her awesome beauty as a model as well as doing the tiny stich work to finish the scarves.
This one is ready for its new owner. She wanted magenta and pink in poncho style so there is a different painting on either side. I can't believe how much fun this is to create.
Just loading more pictures so I can use them
This little cutie that Sarah made is for sale. Message me if interested
These two done and ready to ship to their new owners.
Sunday afternoon when the family is all away I can paint with zero guilt about all those other work things I could be doing.
