sashiko hitomezashi on dyed yarn cotton fabric
Comparing 2 Olympus sashiko threads: Hitomezashi sashiko design stitched with two Olympus threads, The first is the 20 meter skeins, the second is the thin sashiko thread on the balls. I didn't stitch the entire design on the thin thread sample, but it is enough for you to see how the threads compare. Both pieces have been washed. And both threads are equally suitable to use so simply use the one that gives you the look you prefer :-D
At the end of the day, it is what I have made that satisfies me.
I think this is from the Plumeria patter by Sylvia Pippen. I love the combination of sashiko and applique.
#boro There is a blog.... www.athreadedneedle
I've probably already posted this somewhere LOL I'm headed out for a whole day in a pottery studio and this is the mask I choose because it is the softest most breathable cotton for 6 or 7 hours wearing steady. Its made from an Olympus preprinted hitomezashi (one-stitch) sashiko sampler cloth. If you haven't found a comfortable cotton for masks and you like to stitch, I suggest this.
