Latest COVID-19 Update: SSSP & COVID-19 *** APRIL 14 UPDATE*** We are delayed! Since SSSP is still four months away, we still hope to operate the SSSP 2020 star party on a "Business As Usual" model from August 19 - 24. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 virus situation closely.... HOWEVER, as of the beginning of April, campsite reservations (through Reserve-a-Site) for Cypress Hills (and all Sask Parks) HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE and Parks will announce a reopening date once the COVID-19 crisis is resolved. As such, SSSP WILL NOT be opening camping or registration until it is clear that the park can open and we can start to book campsites. Keep watching our website for updates, and the registrar will attempt to inform you by email once camping registrations reopen. https://sssp.saskatoon.rasc.ca/ If you need more information, send a request to [email protected]. Don’t worry about camping we have 109 sites reserved for us, available once camping reopens. If you plan to hotel it instead, you might want to book your room now and then cancel it later if SSSP has to be cancelled. The Resort has a reasonable cancellation policy. As always, state you are ‘with the Summer Star Party to get a room in our reserved block, or they may tell you that they are full. SSSP planning is driven by the schedule of others: in particular, that of Saskatchewan Parks Reserve-a-Site camping reservations. SSSP has until July to makes other decisions such as the cancellation of facilities bookings, meals and t-shirts, so we are in no rush to make those decisions too early. If it becomes necessary to CANCEL the SSSP, we will let you know as soon as we know. If you want to keep tabs on what’s going on with Parks, you can watch for Parks announcements here: https://www.tourismsaskatchewan.com/places/provincial-parks If you have a credit with SSSP, we carry these over year to year until they are used, so if SSSP cannot run in 2020, we will carry your credit over to a future year or refund it at your request. SSSP does not regularly advertise, so please tell your friends and your club’s web-rings about our COVID delay, but also convince them to come to the star party! Please note that we do take this matter seriously. Public safety is our top priority.
