There have been many reports of kennel cough going around Saskatoon. If you are participating in any of the small classes that the SKOC has scheduled at this time, please watch for any signs that your dog may be sick (commonly coughing or vomiting) - especially if you frequent dog parks and your dog has been socializing with many outside your household. Skip a week of class (depending of course, on when symptoms started). Please advise your instructor and we will see if we can accommodate a makeup class when dog is well. Thank you for the consideration of all dogs and puppies that are attending classes.

**Puppy Obedience Classes (3 months and under 6 months) starting on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:15pm and 7:30pm. This will be very basic introduction to Obedience for puppies. We use positive/reward based teaching methods. Puppies will learn Sit/Down/Stand, Heeling on leash, Sitting/stay to greet stranger and Recalls for a 'happy come when called'. The class is geared to teach the puppies to bond with their owners and be happy partners working. Seven weeks for $130. ...Class length is approximately 45 minutes. Due to Covid 19 class size will be limited to 7 dogs each. Masks will be worn if social distancing is not possible or during one-on-one instruction. Instructors will provide waivers and details to the students after registration and agreed upon before classes begin. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested. We will try to accommodate dogs by age, size and/or activity level in each of the classes as we find this is the best suited for the puppies to receive the best experience possible. Sadly, we may not be able to accommodate all requests for class time. Classes fill quickly. All requests will be answered next week in the order they are received. Thank you.

SKOC Covid-19 Classes As SKOC prepares to offer obedience, rally and conformation classes during the pandemic we have made changes to improve safety of students and instructors. Class size will be limited to 8 dogs per class, preferably one handler per dog but maximum of two family members, if required.... Hand sanitizer is to be used upon entering and exiting the building. Masks are to be worn while in the building, when social distancing is not an option. Example - if dogs are socializing or one-on-one instruction is being given. We ask that you only arrive no more than five minutes before your class to give instructors time to clean before and/or between classes. During this time we will be suspending our refund policy, due to low class size limits. SKOC will be following all Covid-19 protocol from the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Please do not enter the building if you have been out of Country within the last 14 days, been in direct contact with someone that has symptoms or been confirmed/investigated for Covid-19. If you have a fever or feeling unwell or have a cough/difficulty breathing that are not normal, please refrain from entering the building. We now have a Covid-19 waiver that must be signed and handed in to instructor before the first class. Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation. Susan Mogenson SKOC President

SKOC was finally able to have their AGM, a little late and outdoors to accommodate the Saskatchewan Health Authority guidelines. This year we recognize Shelly Campbell as our 2019 member of the year. Shelly went above and beyond getting our records in order. I do not want to even think of how many hours she spent getting our books straightened out after a year and a half of bookkeeping being neglected. Thank you Shelly for all your hard work....
