Are you ready? Tomorrow is almost here!
Ms. Lavoie and her grade 7 class have been working very hard on a sustainability project. They would love to share their learning with the Mother Teresa community. Single use plastics have a devastating impact on so many ecosystems. Please feel free to share this post.
Our little people singing at TCU. Beautiful.

Creating music in GarageBand is so much fun. We have a steep learning curve ahead of us, but today we got a feel for how to use the app. We're building neurological pathway in our brains. Thankfully, Mr. Praski donated earbuds. It was the quietest period all day. -Ms. Gallays
Mrs. Twa's grade 4 students have been learning about structures. Today they made marshmallow and spaghetti towers. Any guesses on how many marshmallows were eaten? Learning through building and tinkering is always a much richer learning experience.
Our students have been filling their classroom prayer jars so that our amazing parent prayer group can pray for student intentions. We are united in our faith. Photo credit: Mr. Edwards
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all of our Mother Teresa family. Thank you to Ms. Baier's 6/7 class for hosting a wonderful liturgy today. Today we kicked off our QSP campaign. The students are excited to earn some cool prizes fundraising for our school. Orders are going home today. Check out our school store.
It's welcome week at Mother Teresa. The students have been creating sidewalk chalk messages of welcome. Welcome back to a new school year everyone!
After numerous delays, the books that some of our students made have finally arrived. I'm so excited to see the look on the children's faces when they get their own book. -Ms Gallays
Check out this story about the books in the Eagle Feather News: http://www.eaglefeathernews.com/education/index.php So proud of these kids and Kevin Pee-Ace.
The painting is well underway. It's looking so great!
Students from grade 4/5 Gulka created these images to be used in the story of Almighty Voice. Each student was tasked with creating an image to go with a certain section of the story. Then artist Kevin Pee-Ace traced their images onto transparency film. Each image is a compilation from several student drawings. The composited images were then transferred onto crisp white canvases. For the next step students will paint in the color. Once the painting is complete Ms. Gallays will photograph the paintings to be added to the digital stories. The students were able to see their work yesterday and were pretty excited to see which images Kevin put together. They are also pretty pumped about getting to be famous illustrators. Please feel free to share our project. -Ms. Gallays Saskatchewan Arts Board #ArtistsInSchools
After taking a few weeks off of the project we are back on track to finish. Here a few of our middle years students are painting in color. The mural will be used in each book as part of a historical timeline. #ArtistsInSchools Saskatchewan Arts Board
The best thing about the arts is watching student engagement increase. These kids are learning about history and probably don't even realize it.
The drawing has begun! Students brainstormed ideas to represent the events on the timeline. Kevin helped them bring their ideas to life with encouragement, praise, and suggestions. It's exciting to see the ideas come together. Stop by and take a peak.
Kevin Pee-Ace brought some of his work to school today to share with students. It's beautiful and vibrant. Students were excited.
