We love getting messages from our medical teams about how excited they are to receive funding through RUH Foundation. And, more importantly, we love sharing the...se inspiring messages with YOU, our donors, so you’re aware of the impact of your donation. This message came from Kelly Johnson, Director Cardiosciences Saskatoon and North, on behalf of the Cardiosciences team: "Thanks to the generous support/vision of RUH Foundation and its donors, the Kinsmen Telemiracle Electrophysiology (EP) Lab opened on June 20, 2012. With the opening, patients from Saskatoon and Northern Saskatchewan have been able to have life-saving treatments and procedures at home instead of having to travel outside the province. Our skilled staff perform ablation procedures for all types of arrhythmias, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), pacemaker and internal defibrillator (ICD) insertions. This busy lab has stood up well. Annually, the lab performs up to 680 procedures or treatments. However, due to ever changing technology, some of the original equipment needed to be upgraded. On August 4, 2020, once again thanks to the generosity of donors to RUH Foundation, we were able to upgrade our Abbot Claris Recording System. This piece of equipment is vital the EP lab cannot function without it. The system allows staff to record all pertinent information during the procedure and to create the physicians report. With this upgrade, the EP Lab can confidently continue to function and provide treatments and procedures to our patients. Thank you once again for your continued and valued support to Cardiosciences. Thank you to the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation, the estate of Bob Steane and an anonymous donor for each making a very generous $100K donation to support these upgrades. #gratitude Telemiracle
