Happy New Year - Saskatchewan Marathon - https://mailchi.mp/sas/happy-new-year-saskatchewan-marathon
#startlineimpact More musings from Jerry Demeria : I recently was driving across the Victoria bridge heading away from downtown. I had to turn onto Saskatchewan Cresc and drive along the race course, and to Diefenbaker Park. Some years that route has been the start of the race, and some years it has been the finish of the Sask Marathon. I looked around the Diefenbaker Park race site with many fond memories. The tons of Marafun kids, and how some of those kids are just killing themselves to finish. The pride and sound of the Personal Best Bell, Goat Yoga, live music etc, I miss racing in person, and I am looking forward to its return.

Kyle from Warman finished his Sask Virtual Marathon in 3:46 and is 2nd on the leader board. Fans of "The Office" may relate to his bib and the lamp trophy!
Jerry Demeria says I really miss racing in person: At the marshalling of races to get there early and feel and be a part of the nervous excitement. The positive vibes. When the gun goes off, all the focus and people moving forward. People setting their own pace, and some running with a pacer. Running along a race course exploring a new race location or one that I have run many times here in Saskatoon. Running along enjoying the day regardless of the weather. Great compa...ny! As the finish line gets closer, checking the watch to see if I am on pace, not that it really matters. Crossing the finish line, usually tuckered but elated. Another one done, and another medal to add to the collection. The excitement of the runners and race personnel at the finish line is contagious as well! #startlineimpact
