Frontline workers in Ontario, now including paramedics, will be receiving an additional $4.00 per hour pandemic pay for the next 16 weeks. This Association will continue to lobby the Province of Saskatchewan for similar recognition of the risks faced by our paramedics and EMRs. At 2pm Atlantic Time, (11am Saskatchewan Time), Friday, April 24, Ambulance Services and Fire Departments across the country will be honouring the sacrifice of Cst. Heidi Stevenson by wearing red and participating in 2 minutes of silence in front of their local RCMP detachments. We ask that, where available, emergency vehicles park in front of their local detachments, display lights, (no sirens) and crews stand at attention, facing the detachment, saluting for a two minute m...oment of silence, starting at 11am local time. Because of the Covid-19 regulations, the RCMP is unable to conduct a Regimental Service for Cst. Stevenson at this time.
