WELCOME Dr. Macie! Dr. Macie was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, attending the Mount. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at University of Toronto. She moved to Ottawa to attend medical school, Hamilton for training in Internal Medicine and University of Manitoba for Respirology and Critical Care. She worked in Cambridge for the last 15 years. Dr. Macie is enjoying being home again! It has been a challenge moving both home and practice during COVID pandemi...c. She is interested in participating in patient care managed collaboratively using virtual care, telemedicine and other new systems going forward. Dr. Macie and her husband are looking forward to spending time with family. Dr. Jenny Xue is so excited to begin her family medicine residency in Sault Ste. Marie. She was born in Beijing and grew up in Belleville, ON. From there she completed her undergrad in physiology and philosophy at McGill University, then medical school at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver). Jenny’s residency has been off to a great start - she’s been blown away by how supportive the staff are and how diverse the learning experiences! Outside of medicine, she loves to hike, ski, cook, and dance. Born and raised in Algoma, Dr. Shana Tozer completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Sault College before attending the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. Having completed her nursing placements and medical clerkship in Sault Ste. Marie, she has become very familiar with SAH and the local community. In her spare time Shana enjoys being with her family, many of which live locally. She is also an avid adventurer who enjoys outdoor activities throughout the seasons. Dr. Tozer is excited to be returning home and joining the medical community in Sault Ste. Welcome to new resident- Dr. Amanda Hollingsworth! Amanda is originally from Echo Bay and is happy to be returning home to the Sault Ste. Marie area to begin her residency training in family medicine. I was fortunate to complete a portion of my medical school training in the Sault and know firsthand how supportive the community is. I am looking forward to learning from my patients and their families in an environment that fosters collegiality. Amanda takes time to spend with her fiance and their two Labrador retrievers.
