As you may have heard, many healthcare providers, including dentists have been allowed to reopen in Ontario. As easy as this seems, we must follow many regulations and guidelines (as we posted last week) to open safely during this time. Our governing body, The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario has just revised those regulations and we are working diligently to meet this criteria and be able to provide you with the best care possible in a safe environment.... Please be patient, we will see those smiling faces soon!
We miss all your beautiful smiles and we’re so looking forward to hearing your stories of how you made it through the many weeks of isolation. As we are all preparing to return to some normalcy in our day to day lives, we know that there are certain things that will be a little different for some time to come and this includes some changes when coming to the dentist. Whether it be for your regular, very important treatment with your hygienist or for more extensive treatment...Continue reading
One of our local colleagues making the best of the time on her hands. We miss you all too!
Who do you want to be?
Effective immediately, only essential emergency dental care is recommended by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. The RCDSO is highly recommending all elective and non essential treatment be suspended immediately. The RCDSO will re-evaluate the first week of April and provide further recommendations at that point. Our dental office will be abiding by these recommendations. Tomorrow, Monday March 16th we hope to have a better plan for emergency care and future d...ental treatment. If you are scheduled this week, you will be notified and we will work on rescheduling when we are able to return. As Dr. Schaffer is away this week, if you do have a dental emergency please contact the Dental Emergency Referral Service @ 705-949-3922. We apologize for any inconvenience however for the safety of our staff and patients it is necessary. We will keep you informed as soon as we are able. Stay safe, avoid crowds and enjoy the time with the ones closest to you.
We rise by lifting others, together we can make a difference! #pinkshirtday2020
New Year, Healthier Mouth! What does ringing in the new year have to do with being mouth healthy? More than you may think. Did you know that you should replace your toothbrush every three to four months? Bristles that become frayed and worn are less effective at cleaning your teeth. That means, celebrating the new year with a brand new toothbrush is actually smart dental hygiene.... Here are some mouth healthy resolutions: *. Always brush twice a day for two minutes for healthier teeth, good breath, fewer cavities, and to avoid painful dental problems. *Floss daily. Flossing is part of being mouth healthy. *Chew sugarless gum. Chewing sugarless gum for 20 minutes following meals can help prevent tooth decay. *Eat a healthy diet. Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks. See your dentist. Regular dental visits will help you be mouth healthy for life! *Quoted from ADA mouthhealthy.org
