Sault Surge Aquatic Team

Introducing: Max Rounds Mondays! Lockdown can't and won't keep us down - while we're out of the pool, you'll be provided with a short workout every Monday. The goal is to complete as many rounds of the workout as you can in the time given. Repeat the workout a few times throughout the week and try to complete more rounds each time! This week you have ten minutes get through 10 plank shoulder taps, 10 mountain climbers, 10 burpees, and 10 squat jumps as many times as possible! You get :20 rest at the end of each full round - feel free to DM your results and we'll keep a spreadsheet!

Lockdown has been extended another two weeks, so we will be out of the pool until at least the end of the month. Monthly fees were not charged this month, and those who paid in full can expect a one-month refund shortly. Let's all do our part to make sure lockdown isn't extended beyond these additional two weeks; stay home as much as possible, maintain social distance, and keep your hands clean! It takes a collaborative effort to get through this. We've done it once, we can do it again.

We will be out of the water until at least January 11th for the province-wide lockdown. Senior and Performance will still have their final practice tomorrow morning at 8:30, however. More details are in your email!

The Red & Green Games are officially closed and final tallies are in! Week after week we were provided with new reasons to be proud of this team, but this last week has been the best one yet. We're in touch with pool management about the upcoming provincial lockdown and will update as soon as possible when we figure out what this means for the pool and our program.

We normally don't post more than once per day, but we had a massive amount of donations this afternoon (doubling the pile in our last post, at least!) so we thought we'd provide a points update!

The food and sundries drive for St. Vincent's Place is going swimmingly! You've got until Friday evening to bring in items* - there will be boxes on pool deck for collection. *in their original packaging

We need registered officials! We're hoping to run a series of sanctioned time trials at the end of this week, but we need your help! If you've officiated before, check your email (junk folder included) for a message from Swimming Canada. You'll have to fill out some forms, but at least you'll be registered and approved for work on deck! If you've never officiated or are new to the club, send coach Erin an email and she'll get you set up!

As week 2 of the Red and Green Games comes to a close, we had a guest judge come in to look at our bonus projects! Teams were tasked with writing a workout collaboratively (from a distance) by contributing one set each. Surge grad Riley Reid came in and considered each one, looking for a strong theme and reasonable distances and reps. 4th place: Fast and Flurrious - 100pts 3rd place: Polar Express - 200pts 2nd place: License to Chill - 300pts... 1st place: Flash Freeze - 400pts Team scores will be updated and posted on the weekend!
