Dr. Manzur received his DDS from Carabobo University in Venezuela (2002) and his MSc in Endodontics from the University of San Luis Potosi in Mexico (2005); both occasions graduated with the highest honors. He has gained over 10 years of experience in teaching endodontics for Graduate and Undergraduate programs. Our office has digital intraoral sensors of very high resolution capable of capturing high quality diagnostic images which are taken in our operatories and are immediately transferred to our computers avoiding development/processing times. These sensors also required less exposure to X-rays proving to be safer to the patient. #SavannaDental

According to AAE: If you’re experiencing tooth pain, whether sharp and throbbing or dull and achy, it can be difficult to bite and chew, concentrate, get through the day, even sleep at night, no matter what over-the-counter medication you take for some relief. The source of tooth pain may be dental decay, an injury or an infection in the tooth. Regardless of the cause, if you have ongoing pain it’s time to see a dentist or endodontist for treatment. In the meantime, read on for information on common pain symptoms, possible causes and some steps you can take to ease the discomfort.

Apical Microsurgery Examination: Patient was referred for evaluation of tooth 4.6. RCT was previously done and the tooth was restored with intracanal posts and crown. Periapical radiograph revealed apical radiolucency involving mesial and distal roots, and a separated instrument beyond the apex (See Fig. 1)... Treatment Options Recommended: Apical microsurgery. Advantages and disadvantages were presented and options such as extraction vs. orthograde retreatment or apical microsurgery were discussed. Treatment Rendered: Apical microsurgery was done and root end cavities were prepared (See figure 2) and sealed. (See figures 3-5).

DR. MANFRED FRIEDMAN B.D.S (WITS.) B.CH.D HONS (PRET) Manny Graduated in South Africa in 1971 and emigrated to Canada some 30 years ago. He currently directs the second year endodontic lab course at Schulich Medicine and Dentistry, as well as supervising Endodontics in the Clinic . He is in private practice three days per week, and has restricted his practice to Endodontics since 1997. He has just received the CY Lung award presented to a part a time instructor at Schulich. Manny has lectured on endodontics both internationally and in Canada. Dr. Jacqueline Lopez Gross received her M.Sc. in Endodontics from University of Toronto where she still teaches the residents from the Graduate Endodontic Program. Prior to her specialty training she spent a year at New York University as a resident in the Advanced Program for International Dentists in Endodontics and joined the Western University as an Adjunct Clinical Professor. She received her DDS degree in Venezuela in 2009. She is a member of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics (CAE) and American Association of Endodontics (AAE). Doctor Lopez Gross has recently joined our practice and will be available full time to see patients starting November 2018.#SavannaDental
