We spend a lot of our time working with environmental companies sampling, and doing emergency assessments and project management. A big shout out to them for keeping the environment a top priority.

Savary Island Ferry and Barge 31.12.2020

The Savary Island Ferry family has been overwhelmed by the community support, and the thousands of Savary Island passengers we transported to and from their homes and vacations properties this year. A shout out to the Hernando Island residents that filled our vessels with cargo and passengers and for providing us with a A+ report card. Since our start, June 1st this year, we have had the pleasure of providing essential services during COVID-19 to BC Ambulance Service, North...side Fire Department, BC Hydro, BC Ministry of Forestry, BC Ministry of Environment, RCMP, and several tree planting companies. Desolation Sound has been a tourism hub requiring our marine transportation services to several yachts and recreational visitors that can’t stop talking about the beauty and nonstop wildlife that call this pristine environment home. As an environmental steward, we have created a non-profit organization called Desolation Sound Ocean Protection and Research Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to shoreline cleanup and to provide marine logistics (base camp/accommodations/marine transportation) to assist scientists and researchers in ocean preservation. Again, thank you all for the warm welcome to the Powell River and Lund communities, as we look forward to 2021 in the world’s most amazing paradise. Happy New Year from all the staff at Savary Island Ferry! www.savaryislandferry.com www.safeoceans.org

We are now a solid 10 months into this. If you are not working/not getting a paycheck/struggling to make ends meet and run out of food or necessities...please don’t let yourself or your kids go to sleep with an empty stomach. Christmas is fast approaching if you need help, Please don’t be afraid or embarrassed to pm us. I will drop groceries at your door and go. No one will ever know and we will pretend it never happened. Everyone has been in a tough position at some point in their life. It doesn’t define you. Also a challenge to everyone to support their local food bank. The need has not been this great in a very long time. #JoinTheCause #CopyAndPasteIfYouCan

This past year has affected the lives of people around the world. We learned social distancing, we are repeatedly washing our hands, and we wear masks to protect ourselves, family members, peers, strangers. But through this collective experience, we would like to acknowledge the strength in our SIWT staff, our volunteers, our community neighbors and the marine industry as a whole. Thank you to everyone that supported Savary Island Ferry in these moments of uncertainty, here’s to a hopeful 2021. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
