Get up and move that body! WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, or a combination of both. These recommendations can still be achieved even at home, with no special equipment and with limited space. What is your physical activity of choice during quarantine?

Storytelling has the power to ignite and connect people together, especially in a time like this. The Story Behind the Sole aims to highlight the real stories of people in our community. I remember when I was younger and heading into a new grade in elementary school in need of buying gym shoes. My mom, who was the sole provider, agreed to buying me new shoes from Wal-Mart. This got me upset becau...se I wanted to get shoes from Foot Locker instead because that’s where the cool kids got their shoes. I thought to myself, if I get shoes from Wal-Mart, the kids will make fun of me. I convinced my mom to buy me the shoes from Foot Locker instead and she eventually gave in. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to buy them for me, it was because it was out of her reach. As I kid, I didn’t really think too much on this, but later did I realized that the value placed on materialistic things meant nothing to who I wanted to become. Despite the struggles my mom and I faced, she gave me the best of everything she could and I am forever thankful. It’s through my upbringing and humble experiences that fuel me to help others. -Lorielyn, Community Coordinator of Save Our Soles. #shareourstory #SOS #shareyourstory #sharestories #storytelling #storybehindthesole #soleful #soleconnection #tyingcommunitiestogether #buildcommunities #buildconnection #saveoursoles #saveyoursoles #supportcauses #shoecollection #community See more
