Firefighters spent the weekend steep slope rescue training

Just a reminder to residents that open burning is prohibited in the entire province including the community of Savona. Campfires are still permitted but they must be under half metre by half metre and not be for the purpose of burning yard waste. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please see below for information about burning bans in Savona. We are currently under a BURNING BAN implemented by the Ministry of Environment (since March 26) as we are in a high smoke sensitivity zone. Effective April 16 the BC Wildfire Service has extended the ban. What this means for the community and the surrounding area is that any open burning is NOT permitted. Please do not burn yard waste. Small (no larger than 0.5m wide and 0.5 m high) campfires are okay if the...y are contained in a suitable fire ring. Please do not burn yard waste in your campfire.
