More bandsaw upgrades. A new vise crank handle that extends out enough to operate the vise with the saw in the down position. Also a hydraulic cylinder and flow control system to control the descent of the blade. #metalfabrication #supportlocal #Saskatoon

The next project. A very rough and abused 4x6 horizontal bandsaw. I completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected it, then set the base on the milling machine. I milled the bottom ends flat then fabricated a pair of pedestals and a chip pan to replace the wobbly legs. Next was to machine a new hinge and press in sintered bronze bushings. An extremely fragile antique lamp shade in need of repair. After removing the glass panels, I removed the failed JB Weld then made a fixture to hold the frame in the proper shape. I then soldered it in 4 places, touched up the paint and very carefully installed the glass. #Saskatoon #supportlocal
