Well today we would have been in the THICK OF IT getting ready for RHYTHM ON THE RANGE 2 at this time! Sound checks would be pumping, booze would be chillin and... I have started this post and stopped nearly 20 times ....but here it goes.... On Saturday August 17th,2019..OUR BABY WAS BORN! 2 years of dreaming of her ...but... the last 9 months getting her here for her BIG ARRIVAL was at times hard and overwhelming , back breaking , lesson teaching and beyond exciting . There were tears....oh so many tears...of joy , a bit of anxiety over the unknown but nothing like those that ran down our faces on the day of her arrival! The SHEER PRIDE of seeing her in all her glory...when RHYTHM ON THE RANGE WAS BORN! RHYTHM ON THE RANGE was a series of conversations between 2 women. One a true blue RISK TAKER who was always looking for a challenge and one who dreamed of creating a music event to showcase an extremely talented region of artists ....but both women wanted to be able to GIVE BACK to their community. Bernice Anderson you are one of the HARDEST WORKING WOMEN I have ever known. You took a chance on an idea and ME . You didnt just run with me ...you SPRINTED like an OLYMPIAN! You gave EVERYTHING YOU ARE...your blood , sweat and tears to ensure its success. You taught me to keep my head held high and to FIGHT for what I wanted even when I got knocked down more than a few times and how not to let those moments define me ...that this DREAM was POSSIBLE and that we were the right people to do it! Never wavering.... None of this would have been remotely possible without YOU...to me YOU ARE THE RHYTHM ON THE RANGE...and I will always be grateful for your unwavering LEAP OF FAITH and your STRAIGHT SHOOTIN TOUGH ASS that made this happen. YOU ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH and I KNOW THERE AINT NOTHING YOU CANT DO! I LOVE YOU my sista.. and beyond proud of everything we have shared together during this MAGICAL EXPERIENCE THE MAN... Jean Guy Nault.... a.k.a SUPERMAN! I still cry everytime I see your name in print or that huge heartfelt smile on your face. To say you are the BACKBONE behind this event would be such an understatement... in my opinion if Bernice and I were the roots ...you my friend are THE TRUNK! Every back breaking ounce of construction, from design to result is YOU!!! It was " Hey JeanGuy, we need this. Hey Jean Guy can you do this? Oh shit Jean Guy what do we do about this?" Well..NOT ONLY DID YOU ANSWER ALL OF THESE WITHOUT FLINCHING...but you did it to PERFECTION and with SPEED and with the most incredible amount of positivity. YOU WERE THE TRUE ROCKSTAR of this event! When we first began running with this we were such deer in headlights. We knew we needed some great acts, we had a potentially great venue but we really needed the knowledge of someone who had insights into this enormous undertaking that we had not!!! We decided this was a project that needed key players and that unlike other events of its kind we wanted to be able to not only do it for our community as a whole but to GIVE BACK to our community as well....and it was decided that THE DREAMS Dryden Recreation And Modification Organization would be a great cause and fit! Marnie Oliphant and Janice Apland ..we thank you for taking this ride with us. It was a learning experience filled with many laughs and leg work ...but as my grandmother always said LIKE MINDED SOULS ARE THOSE WHO MAKE DREAMS REALITY! We believed in your ORGANIZATION.. we saw the good you all do for our community and we wanted to help you get a lil closer to reaching your goals...we thank you for your time and efforts and of course SECURITY to this event! Now.... to the tremendous humans who gave direction, insight, their years of experience on events like this who didnt look for recognition...YOU ARE ABOUT TO GET IT! We are and forever will be grateful for each and every late night phone call, drop in unexpectedly moment and possibly even stupid question we threw at ya and always listening and being encouraging even when you may have thought we were over our heads. I wont go into alot of detail as I know you all did it from the heart and wanted this to be a success not for glory but I want everyone to know YOU ARE ALL INCREDIBLE TO US AND WHAT WE DID! YOU WERE ALWAYS TALENTED..DRYDEN KNEW THAT ALREADY BUT SATURDAY NIGHT LEFT THEM SINGING IT IN THE RAIN AND CHANTING IT FOR YEARS TO COME!
