Need your assistance!! Looking for some ideas for the Annual General Meeting for SBHANA. Last year we had Doctor Mehta speak at the AGM, which was very informative. And this year I would like some suggestions from the membership on what you would like to see. Any suggestions? It will be a virtual event due to COVID regulations. Keighley Research Study 1) Virtual Mindfulness Meditation Intervention - a member of the SBHANA and is completing her psychology honors program and is conducting a research. She is looking looking for participants with physical disabilities and mobility issues who are 18 to 30 who would like to participate in a 4 week virtual mindfulness meditation intervention. There is no cost to the participant. This research has been approved by my school's ethics board. Still time to sign up for this informative talk!!! CONNECTION SERIES 2021 Looking for information on the RDSP program? The Connection Series is hosting Steven W...illiams an expert on RDSP. Coming up this week Jan 21, 2021 at 7:30 a session on RDSP. This is a great opportunity to learn from Steven on RDSP's. Steven's Bio: After friends of Steven Williams approached him to find out more about the RDSP, he spent 3 months researching to make sure that it was good for them and their son w/ASD. Finding out that no one really knew much about the RDSP and how it all worked, the RDSP became Steven’s niche and he has tirelessly advocated for PWD to ensure they get the Disability Tax Credit and the Grants and Bonds that the government has for the PWD’s RDSP. Steven has a team that supports him and his client’s and has client’s from coast to coast. This will be an informative talk, you will be able to ask questions and you will be able to have a contact when and if you are interested in learning more about RDSP's. Click the link to sign up.

For members of the Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus Association of Northern Alberta (SBHANA), the COVID-19 pandemic only made things even more difficult. Disruption...s to our health care system and necessary isolation meant more strain on members' mental health. The #ECSFund provided $20,000 to the SBHANA to help support members and their caregivers. The funding provided support for many of the SBHANA members, and was able to assist them with their mental health and alleviate some of the worries that this pandemic has caused, said Kim McDonald, program coordinator of the SBHANA.
