No New Years blues here! Our 3rd front elevation designed for our friends @newurbanhomes_, up in Edmonton. We love the unexpected use of the blue mixed with the warmth of the light wood stain, punctuated by the black windows and roofs. This mountain inspired modern farmhouse is going to be a showstopper. Would you be bold with your exterior colours?

Another new elevation done and dusted for our friends @newurbanhomes_! We love how the black metal paneling ties the main and upper floor windows together and how the ornately designed brackets support the roofs on the right while contrasting with the simple, tailored lines on the left.

Our friends over at @twins_exteriors have been killing it at a couple of our Red Deer projects lately. Their EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) on our modern industrial home is looking next level! And can we talk about those windows, too?!

Our modern European cottage bungalow with @lighthousecustom has an approved development permit and should hopefully be breaking ground soon! The clients have tweaked their exterior colours and it'll look so warm and inviting on the street! We can't wait to see this beauty built!

We've made some great progress on this project recently with @kennect_building_and_design, and now we have something exciting and visual to share with our clients and you all, too. What do you think about this 2418sq.ft. prairie style bungalow?

While not every design gets built, we always appreciate the opportunities and relationships were able to establish with our clients. And who knows where elements of our vision of our clients dreams may resurface down the road. But in the meantime, can we just drool over this gorgeous bungalow?

With a recent trip up to visit a few of our projects with @kennect_building_and_design, we were able to walk through our partially framed industrial farmhouse style storey and a half home. This space is going to have some serious drama and wow factor with an exposed steel central structure and concrete wall in the great room, not to mention the 26 foot tall windows flanking the fireplace and steeply vaulted kitchen/dining space, all overlooking the heavily treed back yard with partial city views. Carriage homes present a completely different set of opportunities and challenges when designing. This one, slated for a corner lot in Mahogany came with a long wish list considering the footprint allowed. And not only did we manage to squeeze it all in, but wed say it looks pretty darn good too!

Progress at our charming Elbow Park project is flying along, and our clients have made some daring but fantastic colour selections inside while the exterior is coming together so well. We cant wait to share the end result!

Our awesome client @ourhouseon8th beat us to the punch this morning, showing off the final design for their new home. We are over the moon with how it turned out and even better, so are they!

Nobody ever said that small had to be boring! With this lovely, little central Alberta cottage signed off, we can get rolling on permit drawings. And we cant wait for our amazing clients to be able to enjoy their time here!

With all this warm weather, these past few weeks but being cooped up inside, were dreaming of a bit of a beach vacation. Maybe this modern beach house will do the trick.

We didnt let the gloomy weather in Calgary stop us from checking out the progress on our Elbow Park custom home. You can really see the detailed build form here, and itll only look better once the stucco and louvers go up. We cant wait!

While out for a walk, the other day, we decided to swing by one of our favorite modern farmhouse designs. We love hollow this corner lot afforded us the opportunity to play with articulation and detailing along the side elevation of this home.

While we continue to practice social distancing, were still working away and are in the process of completing the drawings for this sprawling craftsman storey and a half home.

One of our favourite recent designs is this Modern Arts & Crafts style homes in Calgarys Elbow Park. As work progresses, we cant wait to see some stucco and paint go up, and maybe a bit of landscaping once the snow is gone!

Were truly honoured, a couple more of our designs have recently been reshaped by @exteriors_of_insta, and the recognition is definitely something special. Were working on a few new designs at the moment as well, hopefully they also make the cut

Looking back at one of our favorite modern designs with some amazing clients and partners @niro_developments and @rcid_, we wanted to share a bit of how the interior came together. it!

Kitchen design can be so personal. Do you love the simple functionality of a galley style, a U-shaped kitchen with a sink under the window, a more defined and separate space, or something completely different? These are all questions that are important to consider before starting to design your new custom home.

This past week, we had another great meeting with @kennect_building_and_design and some prospective new clients where we presented this proposed design. Were thrilled to say that they loved the direction and will be moving forward. Looking forward to sharing more about this project over the coming months.

With a lovely, frigid morning here in Calgary (-32C), we wanted to update you on the progress made at our West Hillhurst Modern Farmhouse. What do you think? Next to it, you can also see the West Coast Contemporary elevation that we designed for Niro Developments spec home.

We love breaking the mold. And when faced with the challenge of conflicting design sensibilities, thats when we often get to be the most creative. He loves modern, flat roofs and simple windows. She loves European cottages and stone. So why not mix the two? We wanted to treat this design as a series of historic, stone farmhouses that through one sleek addition became one home to fit the needs of a modern family.

We love how this modern kitchen turned out at our Richmond semi-detached home. So fresh, bright, and wide open that youd never know that theres a shared wall.

Just imagine starting or ending your day, soaking in a beautiful freestanding tub surrounded by these gorgeous windows and views beyond. A little vaulted ceiling above doesnt hurt either!

Siding is going up at our West Hillhurst modern farmhouse! Those gorgeous, black windows will really pop against all that clean, white cladding!

We wanted to share a special, heartfelt thank you for all of the support that the IG/Facebook community has shown us over the past 3 years. Slow, steady growth has always been the goal, and its exciting to have hit this milestone!

Were thrilled to have been contacted by @newurbanhomes_ to design an elevation for one of their upcoming homes. We took inspiration from a Victorian row home, and put our own modernized spin on it. Were loving the result and cant wait to see it built in Edmonton!

Thrilled with how progress is coming along with our two West Hillhurst homes with @niro_developments. Once the siding goes up on the corner lot, itll really start to sing!

Progress is coming along nicely on our Red Deer infill project. Its amazing what a good rendering can do, to bring life to a design! Cant wait to see this one built!

Dark or darker? We love the moodier tones that our clients both chose for their homes. Even better, is how their selections help to bridge the gap between the modern farmhouse and Scandinavian architectural styles.

While yesterday wasnt necessarily the nicest October day, we decided that it was time that we pop by our Bragg Creek Craftsman home and see how it turned out. What do you think?

While not a typical project for us, with a fun renovation project now underway, were looking forward to sharing some more progress photos with you. The first step was replacing the outdated Brazilian cherry hardwood floors with these timeless white oak ones from @after8interiors. Next up @topline_psc will be repainting virtually every square inch of this 4200sq.ft. home, a new kitchen island from @elegantwoodwork, quartzite countertops from @dauterstone and light fixtures from @cartwrightlighting
