Facebook Blog
Dear Reader Twenty years ago I started the magazine SCANDINAVIAN PRESS and subsequently this FB page. If you wonder why there has not been any postings lately, it is because Allen Larson in Minot, North Dakota, took over the magazine on January 1st, 2013 and he has no FB page. The quarterly magazine looks better than ever and if you are interested in all things Nordic you should read more and subscribe at the scandpress.com site! My other magazine Swedish Press is now published by Claes and Joan Fredriksson and still active on FB. (Myself, I am now retired in Sweden and too lazy to blog. Should I get started you will find me on FB at Anders Neumuller).
Winter'13 Scandinavian. This issue was the 74th for the retiring editors, so from a brilliant article on Vikings in the East and a Marimekko CompanyFile, to interviews with everybody from Queen Margrethe and President Tarja Halonen to Victor Borge and the High Priest of the Asatru Jörmundur Ingi, this is mostly a nostalgic trip back for the editors. The next issue from new publisher Allen Larson and new editor Jo Ann Winistorfer will be in full color!
Scandinavian Fall. The new issue (below) has been out quite some time (at nordicway.com) but I have forgotten to tell you about it. There is an interview with the greatest authority on the Vikings, Emeritus Professor James Graham-Campbell, and the very interesting story of how Norwegian-born Henry Larsen opened the Northwest Passage for Canada as well as more interpretations of Munch's "Skriet" than you could ever imagine.
Nordicway now has a video channel. You can now 24/7 go to nordicway.com and see all sorts of 'Scandinavian' programming including music videos, historical features, culture and news (streaming live on the 'Scandinavian American Television Network' courtesy Allan Winters at the pioneering Sunlite Broadcasting Network).
The summer Scandinavian Just realized that I hadn't said a word about the Summer issue of Scandinavian (available at www.nordicway.com) that comes with a rare interview with Icelandic-Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin, everything you need to know about the Hurtigruten Cruise along the Norwegian coast, Bang & Olufsen and Absolute art and advertising. Not to mention news and tips you wouldn't find anywhere else!
