A reader as asked for a picture of the Glen Eagles. We searched our collection in the Scarborough Archives and found one.
Remember the Broom & Stone (Lawrence & Midland), Glen Eagles (eastern end of Sheppard) and the short lived Gogue Inn (Danforth Ave & Luttrell loop just west of Victoria Park) (1966-67) etc as "Pop music venues ? Here's a pix of the Majestics @the Gogue Inn (1966) but we also hosted Ritchie Knight & the Mid-Knights (1963) the Ugly Ducklings @ Knob Hill, Robbie Lane & Disciples, Little Caesar & the Consuls (1965), Blood Sweat & Tears (1969 ), the Five Rogues (1966-later Mandella) and many other bands of the 1960s. Post your memories of the venue and bands of the 1960s for the younger folks to enjoy. Stick to memories of the bands and the three venues above, not the many downtown venues.
OBIT: David and Mary Thomson C.I., Sept. 24, 2020 The school came to an end today ending a lengthy and wonderful existence (1959-2020)
Small section of the Scarborough bluffs crashed into the lake Aug, 2020. This has been going on for centuries but seldom is captured on camera. Left side shows cloud of dust as the clay hits the water, right shows the clay/rock pile afterwards.
