New Research Alert! Newly published paper in Conservation Science and Practice indicates that 102 species at risk of extinction in the Fraser River Estuary can be saved with an investment of $381 million over 25 years. The research demonstrates that the best way to achieve this is for First Nations and other governments to collaboratively implement a conservation and sustainability plan for recovery. This scenario increases the probability of species recovery to 65% and significantly reduces the cost. https://conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/csp2.310

Visit the SCCP's website to learn all about the many species we have at risk on BC's South Coast - from the majestic Great Blue Heron to the small but important Oregon Forestsnail. Visit our tabs on all the resources available to you and learn about our Nature Stewards program. www.sccp.ca

Our new report, Toward a Vision for Salmon Habitat in the Lower Fraser River sets bold recommendations to address the loss of salmon habitat that has been identified as a key factor in the crisis many recognize for Fraser River salmon.
