Guest editors for the CSECS 2018 issue of Lumen (Dr. Christina Ionescu and Dr. Christina Smylitopoulos) warmly invite submissions from student presenters and postdoctoral researchers for the Mark Madoff Prize. The deadline for submitting revised papers is January 15th, 2019. Updates from our co-chairs Christina Ionescu and Christina Smylitopoulos: For your information, papers in a three-paper panel must be no longer than twenty minutes each to allow for discussion. This would normally mean that each paper should be about 2,500 words in total, but the presenter's delivery speed has an impact on length. Papers in a four-panel paper must be no longer than seventeen minutes each (roughly, 2,200 words in total). Your Chair will decide whether question...s will follow each presentation or they will be taken at the end of the session after all the presenters have given their talks. If you have not sent us an up-to-date bio-bibliographical note, please do so at your earliest convenience so it can be sent to your Chair. Audio-visual equipment, including a laptop computer (PC) with internet access and Powerpoint, will be provided in every conference room. We cannot guarantee that internet access will be reliable, thus it will be a good idea to bring your Powerpoint on a memory stick in addition to emailing it to yourself. If possible, please do not disconnect the computer set-up in the room to connect your own laptop. It is always a great idea to try out beforehand your Powerpoint in the room where you will be presenting. Explore the region and its history with great excursions at a great price. See attached descriptions and register on Eventbrite. You will also be able to sign up for excursions at the registration desk during the conference.
