Hopefully I will not need to teach 5000 students to find one that will one day become a sensei... Over the last 7 years I estimate Ive taught about 150 students who have come and gone. My math says if this is true, at this rate itll be 231 years until I find one who also goes on to be a sensei. My hope is this isnt quite accurate. I believe many of my current students will go on to pass traditional Okinawan karate to future generations.

Ive never had any students suggest the payments are too much, but I like this list of what a Sensei provides! Great value!

My students know this isnt true. Sometimes more effort isnt whats required... Case in point: You approach a doorway and push the door to exit. It doesnt open. Irritated, You decide to press harder (apply more effort), and yet it still doesnt open! Then you decide to open your eyes and glance at the sign on the door; it says pull. Abashedly, you pull open the door with next to no effort at all. ... Sound familiar? My suggestion is to relax. Go with the flow. Practice, ofcourse, but do not force things. All individuals have different learning styles and paces. Sometimes getting better at karate really isnt years of arduous practice. There could be an aha! moment where you instantly understand and are now better. So if you find youre not getting better despite your efforts, you just may be pushing a door that says pull.
