It's December, and that means that Santa is doing his final preparations, so it's the last chance for your children to send in their Christmas Wish Lists. On December 11th Disney is releasing an inspiring new movie called "Safety". It's the moving true story of @raymcbey Ray Ray McElrathbey, a football player at Clemson University who during the 2006 season adopted his 11-year old brother Fahmarr after his home life became unsteady. Ray Ray's fight to adopt his brother led to an NCAA landmark decision that allowed coaches and administrators and their families to help care for children like Fahmarr. This movie is extra special t...o Scholars, as Ray Ray, a Scholars Advisory Board member, was discovered at an inner city Atlanta football camp by two of our franchisees, @jamal31lewis Jamal Lewis and @tonyvillanixpe Tony Villani. Through their program Ray Ray got a scholarship to Clemson where he then took custody of Fahmarr and was able to provide for him while at the same time creating an unbreakable brotherly bond. Ray Ray was recently quoted at an event stating 'I am the man I am today thanks to Tony & Jamal.' We are very proud to announce that Ray Ray is contributing to the development of our curriculum alongside our PhDs and educational experts. Our first program to be released on this collaboration is Financial Literacy for kids. Terron Armstead @t_armstead72 of the New Orleans Saints has always had a passion for community and education. So much so that he spent most of his offseason this year funding and overseeing the construction of a 40,000 sq. foot Community Centre in his hometown of Cahokia Illinois. The centre serves as a place where young people can take courses in financial literacy and learn valuable trades. Naturally, he saw Scholars as the perfect fit when he thought about opening an Educ...ation Centre in the great city of New Orleans. We like to think of Scholars as a team, so it is an honor for us to welcome a man who was named 2019 Saints Man Of The Year for not only being heavily involved in the community, but also for being a cornerstone for the team in the locker room and on the field. Being a Left Tackle, he is used to blocking for his teammates, opening up lanes so they can move forward and make gains. Now he's doing the same thing, but instead of football blocks he is providing building blocks for students, and a place where they can learn and grow and reach their potentials.
