It looks as though Silvia Phillips took over painting the commemorative posters for a Main Street Christmas from 2015 to 2019. and if you look carefully, you will see a Grinch in each one of them.

After a year of cancelled events and disappointments, the SVA just wanted to give back to the community at Christmas time. No Main Street Christmas celebration this year?no problem. We can decorate the street instead! Thirty 7 foot Christmas trees installed and decorated with bows and solar lights - Done! Forty snowflakes, homemade and hung on poles, more solar lights added - Done! No Santa Claus parade and farmers Parade of Lights?..wait! There is no way the Farmers are ...giving up their parade. Solution: A Drive-Through the Agricultural Fairgrounds instead. Decorate the entrance and exit - Done! Make signs to advertise and keep everyone safe - Done! Take bookings and keep fingers and toes crossed that everything will run smoothly - Did it. Phew! For almost a quarter of a century the cost of putting on a Main Street Christmas has been covered by an entrance fee and Sponsors. This year 100% was absorbed by the SVA. A gift from us to you. The outpouring of love and gratitude we received in the past week has left us basking in the glow of warm wishes. There have even been offers of donations. So we are offering you an opportunity to give back. If you wish to give a donation to the SVA, you will receive a print of this year’s AMC poster in return. It is a delightful painting created by our own Lisa Cole (aka. The Paint Lady) and it is sure to be a keepsake! Just go to www.schomberg.ca and click on Donate to SVA
