What an achievement!! This masterpiece allowed Mr. Thierry Frayssinhes to obtain the title of "Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France" (One of the Best Craftsmen of France) in carpentry. A very prestigious award in France. It required 2,500 to 3,000 hours to complete. Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (shortened to MOF) is a craftsmen competition in France, held every four years. The title of Un des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France is a unique and prestigious award in France. Thi...s award for special abilities is unique in the world. Created in 1924, initially a competition between the best workers of the era aged 23 and over. In this competition, the candidates are given a certain amount of time and basic materials not only to create a masterpiece, but to do so with a goal of approaching perfection. The chosen method, the organization, the act, the speed, the know-how and the respect for the rules of the trade are verified by a jury just as much as is the final result. The winning candidates retain their title for life, with the indication of the specialty, the year following the one in which they obtain the title. This prestigious title is equally recognized by professionals and the greater public in France, particularly among artisan-merchants that create luxurious goods. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Photos from ateliers-frayssinhes.com Information from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meilleur_Ouvrier_de_France

The astonishing and awe-inspiring masterpiece of the Compagnon Joiner François Roux. These amazing and never before seen views come from the photographer Olivier Gobert, from Studio OG (studioog.fr), and with the cooperation of the Maison de l'Outil et la Pensée Ouvrière (mopo3.com) in Troyes, France. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Translated from French to English from their wesbite - studioog.fr Studio photos of the dismantling... and reassembly of François Roux's Masterpiece at the Maison de l'Outil et de la Pensée Ouvrière. It is with great honor that we took last week, 3 days of shots of the disassembly and reassembly of François Roux's Masterpiece at the Maison de l'Outil et la Pensée Ouvrière in Troyes (MOPO) . A 19th century carpentry masterpiece of 17,700 pieces with a height of 1.70m that required 22 years of work by its author. The exceptional know-how of the Compagnon du Devoirs in all its splendor. 3 days and the help of 4 Compagnons Du Devoir were necessary to take nearly 170 photos dedicated to the creation of a work of art on this work which even today, despite current technical means, commands admiration. There is no question of moving the work to our studio here, as it is impossible for us to ensure a work of inestimable value. We therefore relocated the entire studio to one of the rooms at the Mauroy Hotel in Troyes, owned by the Compagnon du Devoir and housing the museum of tools and workers' thought. A unique museum bringing together more than 12,000 old tools in a breathtaking scenography. We let you admire with this series of details never seen by the general public of this masterpiece.Chef d-oeuvre de Francois-Roux ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Photographe : Olivier GOBERT Studio OG Assistant : Kyllian BRESSON Source - https://studioog.fr/photos-studio-chef-oeuvre-francois-ro/
