The provincial government has extended the restriction on playing sports for another two weeks. League play and other special curling events are postponed or cancelled until January 24th. The club will be providing some scheduled practice time for those members who would like to throw some stones until games restart. More info will be provided when available.
All Schooner members are reminded that the club is on an extended Holiday break until January 11. Games that were scheduled to be played this week are moved to the end of the schedule.

We may be a lot closer to normal play now than we were a few week ago. Just a reminder to everyone to take the Schooner Curling Club's Pre-Season Survey and answer a few questions to help us plan for the 2020-21 season. www.schoonercurlingclub.com/survey
The Schooner Club regrets to inform everyone that, because of the loss of our Junior Coordinator, Ceilidh Forrest, due to other commitments and the difficulties that were introduced in running the program during these trying Covid times, we will not be offering the Schooner Junior Program for the 2020-21 season. We apologize to all the curlers, the parents and families that supported the program over the years and made it such a great success. It was a very difficult decision to make but, unfortunately, the only decision that could be made at this time. We are hopeful that we can re-offer the program in future seasons. The Sydney Curing club will continue to offer its Junior program in the 2020-21 season. Anyone interested should contact the Sydney Curling Club or Thomas Drover.
2020-21 Season Survey The Schooner Curling Club is attempting to gather information about returning and potential new members for our upcoming season. We also have a few general questions we would like everyone's input on. Please take the survey and help us out with planning for the upcoming season. The Corona virus has affected everyone in many ways and the sport of curling is part of that. There are many safety protocols and rule changes coming to our game this year to protect all involved. We want to gather this information so we can better plan our upcoming season and make changes to leagues and procedures as necessary. Please leave your email address so we can track respondents. You will have the opportunity in the survey to opt out of any further contact. Thank you for your support. https://www.schoonercurlingclub.com/survey.html
Congratulations to Yvon LeFort of the Sydney Curling Club, the new board member representing the Cape Breton Region for the Nova Scotia Curling Assoc. Best of luck to Yvon in his new position and we hope you have a great year, even during these strange and difficult times.
Everyone is reminded of the upcoming general meeting to discuss the current problems with our ice shed dehumidifier and the purchase of a replacement unit. The meeting is this Wednesday, August 26 at 7pm at the club. Covid protocols will be followed to insure the safety of all those who attend.
