As a dynamic hub of community in Vaughan, we pride ourselves on our ability to enrich your lives through high quality programs and experiences. With the current government restrictions, we truly feel we are unable to fulfill our membership commitment that you have come to expect. Add to that the current increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the situation becomes untenable with respect to our overall mission. We have made the heartbreaking and difficult decision to temp...orarily close our in-centre fitness, aquatics, and programming (including both Bar/Bat Mitzvah & Inclusion Services) at The Schwartz/Reisman Centre, effective this Saturday, December 12. Please continue to use the facilities this week. All fitness reservations will be honoured until Friday, December 11. Membership billing will continue to remain on hold. No billing will occur for any December usage. If you have further membership questions, please contact us at [email protected] and we will be happy to assist you. We look forward re-opening in the New Year, safely and responsibly, as COVID-19 cases decrease and gathering limitations improve. We are in communication with our local government. Should restrictions change, we will be quick to reassess and be in touch on a re-open date. We are eager to be back together. Your little ones will love this high-energy, interactive program that is fun for kids and parents/caregivers too. The focus is on child development and promotion of movement, and the engaging energy of J Stixx makes it a sure family favourite. Each class is geared to the child's developmental age and abilities. Dara Solomon, Executive Director of the Ontario Jewish Archives will pair this history with images and interview clips from the OJA’s recent Southern African Legacy Project which captured the experience of those South Africans who made Ontario their home. Together, they will explore the unique experiences of these groups and what shifted in their Jewish identity upon migration to Canada. Q+A to follow.
